The White Lion is a traditional hotel opposite Aldeburgh’s shingle beach, where wooden huts line the shore. Guests can enjoy fresh seafood, free Wi-Fi, and some of the rooms have far-reaching sea views. The privately owned hotel offers excellent service and menus made from fresh Suffolk produce. You can dine in the informal beach-facing bar, with its real ales, or the oak-paneled restaurant. With its warm atmosphere and good food, The White Lion is a wonderful seaside hideaway. A variety of walking trails surround the area, and Snape Maltings Concert Hall is a 10-minute drive away. Tennis at the Country Club, and golf on the established James Braid course can be arranged at nearby Thorpeness. There is also space for free parking on site.

The walk to our room was very difficult. We both use walking sticks, and having used the lift to level 2 we still had to negotiate three flights of stairs, both up and down, and some very steep. Street parking outside the hotel was very hit and miss.
Waiting 30 minutes to be served breakfast. TV kept breaking up. Not really value for the money we paid-over �--- a night, would have expected more.
