The Orwell Hotel

It is always nice to stay there.The breakfast was great, really good scrambled eggs.Wish they had grapefruit juice.It was quiet there.

Close to everything. Staff only spoke to you if you spoke first.

The room was freezing, curtains don’t go together so if them cracks of lights bother you, you’ll be bothered lol and our room must have been under a work/hotel cleaning room. Absolutely all night there was what sounded like a tumble dryer going on and off. Shaking and growling down the walls. We won’t stay again :(

Lovely room, clean and well presented, very helpful staff, great value for money.

Location. Staff tried hard to be helpful

No heating in the room in mud December. Although we complained the staff couldn't get it switched on. It was too cold to shower and we left early to go and warm up in a local cafe.

Lovely main areas. Room clean, nicely decorated and furnished and very spacious. Friendly staff. Excellent eliphant!

Easy to get to and has on site parking

It’s very cold, radiators in every room and bathroom but none turned on, electric heater in the room but not safe to have on while sleeping so woke up cold and bathroom was freezing in the morning

Heating poor,bathroom very poor versus previous stays in the hotel,no water pressure ,expected more when paying more

Recently renovated to a very high standard. Comfortable, friendly, very good breakfast. Very good value for money.

You have to ask for real coffee at breakfast.

Lovely staff, beautiful public areas and a really pretty room. The curry we had in the restaurant was delicious.

The hotel was having a heating issue so the initial room we were put in was very cold. However we were moved on request into a delightful room with heaters in and it was great. The price we paid reflected the issue with heating so we ended up with very good value for money and a warm, pretty room.

Great location, near the station and high street shops. Plenty of parking, hotel is a fine building with a nice old school vibe. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was serviced every day. And the price for five nights was great value.

The room is a little old-fashioned, for example no bedside charging points. Also, I could hear TV sets in adjoining rooms, but not too intrusive.

Super convenient to high street and train station. Manager and staff friendly and helpful.

Location great for the town, & Spa Pavilion.Good breakfast.Room big, clean, good shower, bed comfy.

Terrible check in experience ever had.Three couples staying - Told us one room was ready, when not only was it not ready... it was the wrong room.Then the wrong rooms allocated to two couples.. Mixed up the twin & double booking.The hotel is nice inside, but I would say some of the rooms are in need of updating... Just looked a bit tired.

Very good value, beds clean and comfortable , breakfast good although rather unorganised
