    Pros +

    • Everything was amazine. The room was clean and spacious, dinner and breakfast was absolutely delicious, staff were friendly and efficient and a beautiful setting. Couldn't have hoped for any better. Wouldn'e hesitate to recommend.
    • Comfiest beds, lovely staff, amazing food.
    • The evening meal was excellent. The grounds surrounding the hotel were fabulous for dog walking.

    Cons -

    • Booked as said it was dog friendly. When I arrived we weren't in a dog friendly room. They could have upgraded us for free but wanted a £35 dog extra charge. I thought this was excessive for a dog that would have been in his cage while in the room. He came in with us to have dinner and then stayed in the car instead.
    • lacking in its appearance and it’s diligence towards cleaning certain areas were not really acceptableThe room had its problems however the public areas were more concerning with the lack of attention
    • The tv in the room was intermittent at best and the decor in the restaurant felt cold and almost canteen like and the food offerings were quite limited although what we did have was nice

    The views.

The room was tiny compared to pictures, there were ants in the bathroom. I mentioned it was a birthday celebration and they said they would have something in the room for our arrival, which there wasn’t. When it came to dinner I had to tell 5 different staff members about the birthday as they had just forgot to do it, then finally they bring some ice cream out an the lady was laughing and joking with her colleagues and whispering to each other. Wasn’t nice atmosphere, a lot of money for not a nice experience.

Staff were great throughout the whole stay. Very attentive and efficient. Room was comfy, well laid out, quiet and very clean. Food (Dinner and Breakfast) was 8/10. Would defintately consider staying here again.

The spa facilities are separate from the main building and an extra cost. We expected access to sauna and hot tub to be included which was not immidiately clear from booking. The sauna was also malfunctioning, but the staff tried to sort that, but was the end of the day. There was subsequently no charge.

We enjoyed our overnight stay at Kesgrave Hall. We found the staff friendly and welcoming at both reception and in the restaurant. The food was superb, the room was spacious with comfy beds, luxurious bedding and a great shower.

Personal taste- we found the decor a bit dated and dull. Could do with a touch more elegance.

Staff very friendly and helpful.Dog friendlySetting beautiful provided you have a car

While I'm sure the breakfast was great - £27 x 4 was too much for my budget and too much food for smaller appetites and on weekends the brunch option did not start until 10, which was a bit late for our activities.

Breakfast was very good. Thank you!

It’s a great pity that the Duck Spring Rolls are no longer on the lunch or dinner menu. My very favorite dish at Milsolms! I know that new Chefs like to WOW with new dishes but the substitute duck starter tasted like a poor replacement. Please reinstall the original?!

Staff were friendly. Toiletries are nice. Room was warm. View lovely. Quiet at night. Lovely breakfast.

Had to look for staff at check in and out! Room was small but adequate. Limited range of teabags in the room.

Good size room. Lovely breakfast, helpful friendly staff

Room decor a little tired, couldn't open window because of noisy kitchen extractor fan outside

Liked how close we are so didnt need to travel far for a lovely time away, also spa was very good from me and my partner, liked the buffet + kitchen style.

I didnt like the evening meal lay out having to write stuff down and shake abit of paper when you was ready. It made me feel uncomfortable and rude also service was very slow we got asked if we wanted any drinks and we waited 15 mins for tap water had to remind young waiters and waitress quite alot they asked us if we wanted any sauces with our meal but by the time it came out we was pretty much finished with our meal, and no one told us that dessert had to be written down too.. we waited ages to serves to come over and when approached she told us to write it down then walked away after taking so long to get attention the first time. Breakfast was nice poached eggs were slightly under done quite watery. Our room was cold when we went to sleep but early hours in the morning got ridiculous hot we both woke up sweating and had to open window and didnt sleep well due to how hot the room was

Country house feel, but relaxed atmosphere

Some rooms outside of main building. Normally this is fine, but on wet December nights not so much.

    9MandyPosted on: 12-10-2025

The room was absolutely beautiful, clean and comfortable with everything we needed. The food was delicious, we really enjoyed our stay. This was our 4th visit! X

The tv in the room was so complicated to find a channel and some fresh milk in the fridge would have been a real bonus xx

We stayed in the Gatehouse which was away from the main hotel. We had issues getting from the gatehouse to the hotel where our event was being held. The staff advised that the usual golf buggy used to transport guests was being repaired and no one knew how to drive the other buggy, meaning that we were taken back to our room by one of the staff in their car. The staff were really lovely and helpful, particularly the breakfast staff (as I am gluten free). I think that if you are going to offer rooms away from the main hotel it shouldn't be any less convenient to get to the main hotel than the other rooms. The bed in the room was super comfy and it was peaceful waking up with a view into the woods.

The room was plush but there were a few touches which I think could have made it excellent.A coat hook on the side of the wardrobe ( coats had to be put in the wardrobe which personally I found annoying)More ambient lighting. The overhead lights were extremely bright but the bedside lamps were very low light and there was no middle ground.A hand towel rail in the bathroomAn option to purchase drinks in the foyer of the gatehouse would have been nice. The main bar is in the hotel proper so once you are in your room away from the hotel you can't get a drink. We popped to the local tesco as it was closer than getting to the hotel.
