The Farmhouse

Location was perfect.

There was no lift. No real reception to greet you. Car park very tight. Bathroom had cobwebs in corners and lock was broken.

Friendly welcoming staff. Comfortable spacious room.

A little more attention to detail with the cleaning would be good, although the important areas were fine.

The food

No dedicated check-in, totally no atmosphere rather a dark badly lit area

Location and food good but first breakfast was very poor.

First breakfast the tea was Luke warm and a half a mug off coffee .we were served at 10.45am we had just checked in breakfast finished at 11am it looked like the leftovers. Was very disappointed and not value for money.

The rooms where nice and spacious and the restaurant staff were lovely

On arrival said there was no room in the restaurant even though we booked and he wasn’t helpful on arrival in accommodating our needs to eat even with a booking. Upon arrival in the restaurant half the menu was unavailable. Not very helpful or accommodating especially has the rooms were not cheap.

Full English Breakfast was not that great, it could be better.

The farmhouse is lovely, we arrived on a busy Friday night and although couldn't get a table in the restaurant we ate a nice meal in the bar area. All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful, especially the manager (we believe her to be) on me raising the issue of road noise in the room we stayed in our first night. We wouldn't normally have worried about raising it as an issue but due to some personal reasons my husband required more rest on this trip and she offered us a move without any hesitation.

Some road noise in room 1, it is a busy A Road, as well as the music from the pub below (which did turn of around 11, we think!)The breakfast menu options were fairly limited if you wanted a lighter breakfast (without overpaying for a croissant and yoghurt).

Pleasant staff in all areas. Good parking. Excellent breakfast and reasonable dinner menu.

Three flights of steep stairs to our room. Bathroom small and a little dated, toiletries adequate but towels very good. Lighting in room could be improved. Duvet quite thin for a February night though room warm enough.

Room was spacious and bed was comfortable. Room was a little cold, especially the bathroom but thankfully there was a portable heater which was nice. Restaurant is nice and cosy.

I asked for an extra blanket as room was a little cold and I was given a sheet?! Also the sofa bed was very uncomfortable and squeeky so my son shared the double bed with me instead which wasn't ideal as i booked an extra bed for a reason.

We had dinner and breakfast, both were tasty and April who served us at breakfast was so friendly and helpful

We had driven 3 hours for a funeral so by early evening we were tired and being Friday the pub was full and it was a bit noisy

Evening Bar meal - good. Bar staff - a little inexperienced in responding to request for a cocktail from the menu.Breakfast - very generous portion!

Dirty flooring , lumpy pillows. Bath very narrow which makes it hard to turn around in the shower.
