Crafted at Powdermills

Crafted at Powdermills is a unique retreat in the heart of East Sussex, built around a serene seven-acre private lake and surrounded by ancient woodlands and wildflower meadows. Designed for those seeking connection, with nature, with creativity, and with themselves, guests can enjoy cold-water swims, paddleboarding, kayaking, forest yoga, and lakeside saunas. An outdoor bathing pool and a year-round wellness program offer moments of stillness and adventure alike. Housed in a beautifully restored Georgian Grade II-listed country house, the hotel features 55 individually designed rooms and suites, each inspired by the natural world and crafted with care. Guests can unwind at the on-site pub, restaurant, and cocktail bar, or explore creative pursuits at the Craft Barn and Art Studio. The space also hosts a members club, offering a cultural and social calendar for curious minds. For a more private escape, three charming cottages, Ash, Oak, and The Lake House, offer spacious accommodations for families, friends, or retreat groups. Each includes a kitchen, cozy living areas with a wood-burning stove, and plenty of room to relax. The Lake House also features a private garden, outdoor pool, and deck overlooking the lake, ideal for unforgettable group stays, special celebrations, or corporate retreats.
