Cons -
- Alittle noisey now and again with fires closes and floor boards creeping
- We were dbl booked and ended up in a room that you needed sat nav to get to and not the room we were originally getting (which the people never turned up for)
- Room was nothing like the photos. We was placed in annexe due to having a dog with us so this maybe why. But we had paid for a premium upgrade, it felt like we was staying in a council block of flats. The beds where very uncomfortable. Breakfast was awful to

Disappointing
Room was nothing like the photos. We was placed in annexe due to having a dog with us so this maybe why. But we had paid for a premium upgrade, it felt like we was staying in a council block of flats. The beds where very uncomfortable. Breakfast was awful to
The property is beautiful, gorgeous views ! I love that there is a restaurant/ bar built into hotel , makes for wonderful night caps and can walk up straight o your room. The staff have been wonderful. I will definitely be coming back here to stay .
There is nothing bad I can say
The room was clean and comfortable
Didn't get house service when leaving the thing on the door
Clean rooms. Pleasant staff
Website says “free breakfast”…….we had to pay
The staff went above their duties to make sure our stay was wonderful. They were extremely friendly and respectful to everything we needed. They were truly remarkable to all of my family that was staying there. Liam was extrodenary to my 10 year old grandson staying there. He went above and beyond his duties to make a child feel special. Im truly grateful to him.
Can't really say I didn't like anything
Comfy rooms, pool table downstairs in restaurant which is a bonus if you like pool.
Our original room the bath plug wasn’t working so had to be moved room, it was a bit of an upgrade which was nice for the inconvenience they also gave us late check out. Very accommodating.
Perfectly fine for our one night stay as we were attending a party in the hotel.
Our room was recently refurbished I think so we were happy with it. My friends room was in the older part of the building and they were cold the first night but the hotel was able to move them to a better room for their second night. The reception staff were lovely.
Has a slight issue that room had not been made up (even with sign on door askjng it to be done) however the bar staff that night sorted clean towels straight away and was dealt with perfectly. Looking forward to our next stay.
The staff were helpful and polite in both reception and bar/ restaurant. Room was large and comfortable and clean. Great value for money. will use again in the future.
Nothing i didnt like
Room was Lovely, prices were great, food was average.
Our room 100 is situated right next to the main stair case and the door is paper thin. All you hear is people going up and down and using the bar toilets. Very loud.
Room was really nice, the restaurant staff friendly and helpful, and the food was good.
Upon arrival I was informed that there was an event on in the Function Suite that evening, which my room was directly above. Having exchanged several messages with the hotel prior to arrival, I can't understand why this information wasn't provided before my arrival. Didn't leave me with much choice.I didn't get to sleep until 2am! This was because after the function, which finished around midnight, a group of drunk boys hung around outside reception - about thirty yards from my room - shouting and laughing for another hour and a half. No one from the hotel staff thought to come and move them on and the poor soundproofing of the room meant I heard everything the whole time.I understand the building is traditional but the windows may as well not be there for all I heard and would really benefit from some improved glazing. The door to the room too, which did nothing for the noise in the stairwell, which travelled all the way up and under the thin door.
The room was spacious and clean
There was a fan ( or something ) outside on continuously throughout the night that disturbed our sleep throughout the night
Loved the room and the tv, the staff were top class, super helpful and happy. The mattress was comfortable and the view was nice. The late 2pm check out was great as we were there for a funeral which started at 2pm so this was perfect and allowed us time to get ready for it at a good pace. The shower was great too, very fancy.
The pillows were small and thin and caused trouble sleeping, the cups with the tea set needed cleaned prior to use and there wasn't enough tea bags/sugar/milk but loads of coffee. Dinner was nice but the breakfast lorne was undercooked a fair bit, though we didn't feel rushed to leave at 11 unlike other places we stayed.
The bed was comfortable, the location was good, there was a sea view from the window, and the bathroom was clean and well maintained.
They should provide a room freshener, as the room felt suffocating when we entered. Also, the room looked bigger in the photos than it actually was.
The staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for you. They are all a credit to the hotel. The hotel was great value for money and the food was delicious. We were in a big party which from previous experiences in different hotels can cause problems but not here, everyone got their food at the same time and it was all really fresh and tasty. There was also a great female singer in the bar. There was a good selection at breakfast which was also delicious. We would definitely recommend this hotel for an overnight stay or even just for a meal.
There was nothing we didn't like.
Room rate. Adjoining pub and restaurant. Friendly staff. Parking available. Nice main building. Good location and nice town. Bathroom nice. WiFi. You had a vacancy on short notice.
Room (and bed?) had a disinfectant odor that to me resembled something masking the smell of sweat (perspiration). There is virtually no sound deadening to prevent noise from footsteps from the room above…hard to get to sleep. The pillow on the single bed rustled in your ear with a sound of wood shavings when your head rested on its side.
We were a large group including children, celebrating my grandson's birthday. The staff and service were excellent - nothing was too much trouble and we were welcomed warmly and well looked after. Dinner - the food was great and plentiful - great value for money. Drink prices are reasonable too! Added bonus was a fab singer in the bar. I had emailed regarding our stay a number of times and the staff answered all my questions and put my mind at rest. Our rooms were lovely, comfy beds and quiet night time and we had a tasty full Scottish for breakfast. Loved it!
