    Cons -

    • Only problem was that the heating wasn't working in the room . Not ideal in February A heater was provided and that was much better staff did try to fix the heating.
    • Room basic not what was expected as advertised

Fascinating historic buildings, beautiful grounds, comfortable bedrooms with all amenities needed. Great breakfast - cooked to order.

    Nothing to dislike

    7GarethPosted on: 2-20-2026

The food and staff were of a high standard

The main part of the hotel, including the Restaurant and bar area were extremely cold, to the extent that customers were wearing costs to eat and socialise. The new part of the accommodation was more comfortable.

    9KerlinPosted on: 2-20-2026

Great location, comfy rooms, friendly staff, good food.

Room was too hot overnight night.

    9AndrewPosted on: 2-20-2026

Beautiful historic building, secure parking, tasty breakfast (buffet), dinner was delicious, both were served in a very atmospheric room with wood panelling and a fire place. Our bedroom was spacious and cosy, with tasteful furnishings and wonderful views across the garden. The shower was powerful. Would definitely stay again.

The bathroom was cold when we arrived - the heating had not been turned on (towel rack) and the other radiator did not seem to be working properly. A fan providing warm air helped a little. It was a little surprising that on the morning of departure all portable furnisture had been removed from the reception area, as it was being renovated. It has to be done, of course, but it would have been nice to have been made aware of rhis in advance.

Location convenient. Car parking and new accommodatìn aŕea

Furniture and decoration looked tired and in need of renewal. Room was cold

    3CarolPosted on: 2-17-2026

Grounds main house were nice and breakfast room

Shabby furniture scuffed , cracks in plaster around window , curtain broke hanging down . No sleep at all due to the huge amount of noise from upstairs which you can imagine was very disturbing being of a sexual nature . Manager didn’t even acknowledge our complaint on the morning.

Beautiful building with lots of history and lots to look at. Nice comfy bed with choice of coffee and teas. Good location for airport or visit to NEC

Didn't realise hotel was doing special valentine deal so paid extra for meals and breakfast. Felt rushed through meal and service was lack lustre. Wasn't told bar was closing at 11 not given option to take drink up to room. Kettle tripped electrics and noone answered from reception we had to hunt for the breaker ourselves. Breakfast was a buffet affair that although was tasty it would have been nice to have options such as eggs benedict. All in all my special birthday treat didn't feel all that special.

Lovely welcome from reception and good sized clean rooms.

    4BredaPosted on: 2-14-2026

It’s a beautiful building with plenty of space indoor and out.

The indoor space was dull and seemed poorly cared for. No effort has been made in the interior presentation to match the beauty of the building. The service staff at meal times were very good. The reception staff were almost uniformly unwelcoming.

Stayed in the new Coach House which was excellent. As I visit several times a year - our Offices are at Fort Dunlop - I will recommend to my colleagues

    7EwaPosted on: 2-10-2026

Lovely room and a cozy atmosphere. Lovely management

Very rude gentleman at reception gave us the wrong room and tried to gaslight us before saying "it's your lucky day, you have an upgrade". Ruined the experience sadly. This issue was raised to the manager on duty in the morning who handled it very well

    5GaelPosted on: 2-7-2026

    Nothing really

Accom was in an out building, dated and not great facilities. The lounge bar back in the main area lacked atmosphere and breakfast was basic.

    9DavidPosted on: 2-6-2026

Easy to find. Very good location for the NEC, lots of parking, Iron in the room which is always a plus, good breakfast

    1PhilPosted on: 2-6-2026

Apart from the exterior look of the property and the dining room area.. nothing else

It was smelly in the hallway I used to access my room, and very tired old carpet throughout the hotel..

    8LuciaPosted on: 2-5-2026

Nice hotel. Some sort of castle. The breakfast was pretty good, and the staff was also really helpful. We had dinner at the hotel the night we stayed, and it was nice.

    8AstridPosted on: 2-3-2026

    Very good

Considering I paid nearly £100 for the room, it would have been nice to have a double bed than a single.

    4SharjeelPosted on: 2-2-2026

    Character

Arrogant atmosphere Staff were very black and white, poor customer service and just transactional It was our anniversary and they didn’t do recognise that at allI booked this as there was an offer for an upgrade but the room was small and dated Wouldn’t stay here again, there are much better options
