- As a pub, it's charming. The owner, Chris, was nice. Since we had to leave early and they couldn't give us breakfast he comped our two drinks at dinner. It was convenient for going to the airport.
- A lovely pub. Friendly people. Warm room. Lovely breakfast.
- Very homely welcome. Lovely village. Lovely staff with many having a family connection. Great inclusive breakfast. Definitely stay again.
Cons -
- The mattress was the Worst- I could feel the springs, had to sleep on top of the cover!. Over 5'7 you can't stand in the shower! A skeleton key fits a hole in the door- no security. It's noisy, can hear the next room, pub & street. No Three Stars, maybe1
- Shower was a bit small.
- Though spotlessly clean. The temperature control in heating the room was not obvious to adjust and the bed mattress has suffered the ills of old age.

Great location for events at the National Conference Centre at the Motorcycle museum, providing a lovely walk to and from the event each day. Far better option than the local chain hotels, with comfy beds, lovely pub, good food and some unique charm. It looks like the garden area would be lovely in the summer months.
Not a great deal. It's a very old pub/building with associated old building quirks and limitations - as long as you're not expecting everything to be glitz and glamour you'll be happy here.
Lovely 16th century inn. Quirky interior, great beers and great food. Attentive staff.
Internal rooms quite small and coming off historic central landing. A late night reveller woke us all up around midnight as she tried to locate her room. This is my fourth stay and it is far more relaxed and friendly than the NEC contacts.
The rooms were a delight, the pub was lovely and cosy and the food was excellent as well as the wonderful and attentive staff.
Location fantastic, staff very friendly , made as welcome and comfortable
Warning of the difficult staircaseUnderstandable in a building of this age and character But warning would help
There was a warm welcome and great service throughout our short stay. The food was very nice and there was a good selection of wines to accompany it. Our dogs were made welcome too and it was good that our room was away from others to help keep them settled during the night.
The bed was a little squeaky and not very comfortable so we didn't sleep particularly well.
Excellent location for the NEC delicious food and realy friendly and attentive staff
Na
It was a quirky pub with friendly staff and a great breakfast
Quaint pub ideally located for my nearby business event. Parking is a plus. The bedroom is not in the main pub. Outside walk 20 seconds to a collection of what used to be old terrace cottages or a barn maybe many many years ago. The room was quite twee (which was endearing) a bedroom and bathroom. Very small but extremely cosy and warm. The bed and pillows were the best bit. Very comfortable. Clean, tea coffee, towels supplied. I didn't realise breakfast was included until the last day.breakfadt was inside the cute pub and very nice. Overall great value, friendly staff and will be returning every 8 weeks due to work travel
I wouldn't say I disliked anything. A few things to mention. The shower was not high enough for me at 5'9". It was unpredictable from hot to warm then cold. A few extra milks would be great. The path to my part of the cottage in the corner was very dark and slippery with leaves. I had to put my phone torch on so I could have good visibility. Maybe a light outside that door would be helpful. The pluses definitely outweigh thebtweaks.
It’s has a lovely ambiance, the staff are very friendly and professional, food lovely try the pie with steak and black pudding, I have a rapeseed allergy and the kitchen was excellent
The pathway to the room, which was outside was slippery and no handrail for the steps
Really friendly staff. Nice pub. Love the shabby chic decor. Close to the nEC. Far nicer than staying in a chain hotel. Nice breakfast.
Bed was a bit creaky maybe tighten the frame up.
Very friendly staff. Amazing food. Comfortable bed. Allows dogs free of charge.
I loved the village location, the ease of getting to the NEC and the wonderful welcoming staff
The atmousphere og personel, easy parking
Old rooms with missings.
Quaint and comfortable. Excellent breakfast.
Although it was a cold night the heating was on full blast and so quite stifling. There was no way to turn it down and windows were sealed shut.
Super welcoming and cosy place to stay. Lovely room which was a good size and spotless, excellent breakfast and quiet location.
The shower was very weak and the bed was extremely creaky.
Lovely staff, really friendly and helpful. Great breakfast. Great location for us. Rooms were comfortable and quiet. Lots of period feature. Lovely open fire in the bar area, so very cosy for a mulled wine of two.
Great location, going to a wedding at the Manor which was about five minutes by car away.
Lots of character, very clean and comfortable. Good breakfast and evening menu. Friendly staff.
