The Gables Hotel, Birmingham Airport

The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was clean It is ideally located to the NEC + there is a Harvester Inn only 2 miles down the road Probably the cheapest hotel you can book for the area (October 23)

Pretty run-down hotel - bathroom door would not close as the frame/door was warped - there was also a slight leak from the ceiling (looked like an old failed bodged repair) there was also a bit of a leak from the waste pipe (but it did not smell)

The flowers outside. The kindness of the janitor getting up to let us in late. The clean sheets and the comfy bed.

The shower leaked all over the bathroom. The furniture was almost in pieces. There was only one towel for the double room and no loo paper!!

The room was clean and tidy

The walls between rooms are paper thin. I was staying over night in a twin room with my 10 year old daughter. Just as I was settling her down, the occupant of the next room decided to play music and make calls on his phone and we were able to hear it all.

The owners were friendly. There was an X1 bus stop within a ten minutes walk, although you had to cross a dual carriageway. Luckily there was a crossing or it'd be impossible during rush hour.

The sheets and towels were clean, if a little stained and the bath, basin and loo were clean. But everything else, including the glasses and soap dish etc., were grubby. Staff also threw things away and came in to do room despite note on door asking not.

The room was clean and larger than some single rooms I have stayed in. Very limited selection of what could be seen on the television. Sufficient facilities ie tea /coffee and toiletries.

Not sure about being so close to the end of the airport runway but there was very little air traffic during the night.

Close to the Airport, offer free parking

I basically did not feel safe to touch anything in that room, not even a fully flushing toilet. I actually left after 20 minutes as I could not spend a night in that hotel, smelly, dirty, filthy.Requested an invoice for my business, not received one yet.

How close to the airport it was 6 mins

Needs updating and if they put matching duvet covers on each bed an towels Had to ask for tbags ect toilet roll which is basics was given them no problem but when you've been travelling you don't wanna go bk an forth up the stairs ?

It was cheap. As a glass half full kind of person I'm going to say the shower only being cold ended up being a plus as there was no air con and the day i was there it was insanely warm. The guy that dropped me back to the airport was friendly.

Stains on corners of pillow.. pillow had a kids fairy cover? There was a weird smell... the shower was only cold, however this wasn't too bad as I was visiting when it was quite hot. No food in the hotel so had to make so with meal deals from the petrol station next door. Walls are very thin, door lock for bathroom didn't work.

Location.

This was a last minute booking for late accom for work.I knew it was budget, however:The room was very shabby in general.The toilet seat was not properly secured.Towels were very old, scratchy and threadbare.The bottom sheet was a single on a double bed, so didn't fit properly.There were stains on the pillow case.Stains on the divan base (seen as no valance to cover it.I could not lock the door from the inside.I found another hotel and left 10 minutes later. I appreciate its budget, but basic maintenance and cleanliness is required - and no woman will stay in a hotel room they cannot lock.

This is not a posh hotel … but it’s so clean and free parking. Staff can’t do enough for you . Free WI fi , tea coffee & tv in room. I’m not paying stupid expensive airport hotel/ parking any more. ?

If you want to get bitten by bedbugs this is the perfect place to stay

Everything was outdated and I was covered in bedbugs.the shower would flood straight away.id brush my teeth in the morning and it would flood the shower.and to top my miserable stay they wouldn’t even send me an invoice I requested

Room clean but old furniture, bed more comfortable than expected. Unmatched linen nearly added to the charm!

Great location but it is very worn down and in need of repair and updating. The staff were sat at reception smoking so the whole place stank of smoke. The pictures are obviously from when it first opened as they do not reflect the hotel in its current state.

It was relatively cheap. The staff were fine.

Extremely poor quality. In desperate need of repairs and refurbishment. No facilities to speak of. Kettle was faulty, shower rod was coming off the wall, shower tray was broken.

It was close to where we needed to get to go to a concert.

The property was not as described on advertisement. The parking spaces on the property were reserved using garden furniture/ wheelie bins when we arrived. The room was not clean, the cups in the room had a dark residue in the bottom, the towels were damp and the bed sheets had hair on them. Overall an unpleasant experience, would have stayed elsewhere but due to last minute it was our only option.
