The bed was very comfortable and the cabin was really clean.

Check in at 4pm and check out at 10am is poor form. Taking a security deposit and photo ID seems a bit strange. Charging £2 each to use a towel for the pool is really excessive. The pool area itself is worn and dated. Making people wait until bang on 4pm for their rule and directing them to wait in the bar is clearly a deliberate strategy to try and sell drinks. Lack of vegan options in the restaurant. Generally, very average.

A bit awkward to get too

Excellent facilities and space. My colleague and I had a 2-day writing retreat here and it was perfect. Started each working day with a swim, nice walk after lunch and sauna and swim before dinner. The restaurant food and setting was good (though a new menu was introduced the day we left so can't comment on that) and the wine excellent. Kitchen was well equipped and, crucially, the beds comfortable. Extremely good value for money.

It was all great, though the wifi in our 2-bedroom unit was very slow indeed. Luckily this helped keep us offline and writing!

The lodges are very comfortable, clean, and very warm. I did not use the full facilities of the site as I was satying due to a work related stay.

Beautiful grounds, friendly staff, cosy bar and good bar menu, good pool facilities. Lovely comfortable rooms with lots of space, big bathroom with a nice big walk-in shower. Well-equipped kitchen with plenty of utensils etc.

Nice old country house, stayed a suite in the main house nice and spacious , good facilities.

Spa leisure facilities disappointing. Not what they looked on the photo , very small basic fitness area. All clean but basic leisure centre environment.

Great pool. Lovely views. Good food in the restaurant. Friendly, helpful staff. Very spacious room.

This is not the place to be without a car.

Everything was good and just what I needed for my weekend away gym was useful had a couple of machines that I used and the grounds were pretty and clean

Had the grounds floor flat and could hear the noise from the people upstairs which woke me early in the morning

Lovely accommodation with everything you could possibly need in your room. Beautiful surroundings. Nice food. Gail (staff member) was a very lovely lady.

Wouldn’t let us check in 1 minute earlier even though rooms were ready. And we’re waiting outside our door at 9:50am for us to check out. Staff could have been friendlier, got the impression they didn’t like children. My 10 year old boy who has Autism & ADHD was asked a couple of times to stop jumping around - one of which was while we were celebrating at midnight during New Year’s Eve. He was jumping on a sofa in excitement without any shoes on. I get that they don’t want kids jumping on furniture but think the staff should have discussed this with me - not my child directly. When I explained this to the staff member he said “keep your children under control and everything will be okay“ which I think was a rather rude thing to say. We were there 2 nights and my children were very well behaved the whole time. There wasn’t much food on offer during our stay (because of NYE) but this was a problem for us as there’s nothing nearby unless you’ve got a car. Steam room wasn’t working and the ‘heated’ swimming pool was very cold.

The staff Esmé and Frankie were very helpful from the point of me booking and checking out. It was suitable for our family break and a lot to do for the children during our stay.

The place was quite solitary, peaciful and homely. Plenty of room, facilities all provide for self catering.

More of better house keeping. The sofa beds were not in good and clean condition, floors not thoroughly cleaned, bathroom sealing had spider webs.Staff were excellent, kept communication line via textWe were even allowed to check out late(at a fee though) much appreciated.
