    • Everything was spotless, food was great and service was exceptional

    Cons -

    • Old building so the sound proofing is poor. Everytime someone moves i another room , a corridor or opens/closes a door you hear it, so i was woken 2hrs earlier than I'd planned to get up !Breakfast only served until 8am.TV channels are not all clear.

Super Break fast and Dinner. Very tasty and it was the best food during our entire 12 day travel. Location has a good neighbor hood. The front yard as well as back yard was good to enjoy the weather with proper garden furniture. If you are family of four, better to book two rooms since 4 bed rooms are tiny and can't accommodate the luggage if you are carrying 4 medium size luggage

room size for 4 bed does not have luggage space.

The room was large, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a full english breakfast and the staff was friendly and attentive.

The bathoom is due for a refresh.

Both evening meal and breakfast were great, served by lovely, efficient ladies. Bed was very comfortable and excellent having a bath, so many places don’t and it’s my away treat!Very convenient and easy to find location. What a lovely atmosphere. Thank you.

Sadly our kettle was faulty, in room 11, however it was speedily dealt with and we got a cuppa! So no big deal. Can’t really fault anything else!

Breakfast was lovely and the lady who served us.

Very noisy in the rooms above all night. We appreciate it was a hen night but it sounded like a herd of elephants through the floor.

The Cock Inn is one of my favourite places to stay when I am working in and around Essex and East London; close to the M11, relaxed and welcoming plus very good value.

The rooms have everything needed but some might regard them as a little basic.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean and comfortable with a decent bathroom. Whilst we only had the full english breakfast there was jams, yogurts etc to be had from the bar. All this and at a very competitive rate. All in all a very good experience and would be happy to encourage others to use whilst in the area. A definite reccommendation.Mark and Kerry.

We stayed at the Cock Inn for one night, it was a reunion to catch up with old friends and do a little networking. The pub was busy on Saturday afternoon but we were quickly checked into our room which was spacious and clean with a very comfortable bed. I had paid via booking.com, as always the communication was excellent and the payment had already been taken. The pub in the evening was very busy with a lively atmosphere, there is a great choice of well kept beers and the food was brilliant and all arrived in good time for our large group. It was a great night out in a typical English pub.Breakfast on Sunday morning lovely with a good choice of cereal, fruit juice etc from the bar. The cooked breakfast is superb, you can change your order to suit your requirements and nothing is too much trouble. The coffee is good and the pot is refilled quickly when you ask.

The staff were friendly, chatty and very helpful. We ate in the pub and the food was fantastic. The chef clearly thought about the menu.

Nothing, it was a very nice stay.

Great breakfast with quality ingredients and staff at breakfast very good. Bar and restaurant area was welcoming and good ambiance.

The room was disappointing being tired needing maintenance. Cracked tiles, limescale on taps and sink with staining in bath. Windows need maintenance.

    Everything was ok

The woman that we dealt with when checking out was very rude to us and the customer before us all because we booked via booking.com as she refused to give an invoice.

A really lovely stay. We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed both breakfasts and dinners. The room was comfortable and clean and all the staff were helpful and friendly.
