Great location and £58 for valentine's night is a bargain
A little dated, could do with a makeover
Friendly staff, great breakfast and perfect location
Rooms very tired and run down, could do with a revamp
Bed very comfortable. Breakfast excellent. Dinner excellent - usual Greene King standard
There is no signage for the car park and we drove round and round a couple of times in pouring rain in the dark looking for the car park - all very confusing, frustrating and time-consuming as we are not familiar with Havant
Great parking check in easy and quick great place staff and food was great definitely book again
Food
Excellent location and comfortable beds
Shower was leaking
Great breakfast, and friendly helpful staff. Also ease of access after hours.
Only a VERY small problem.... I had a late night "drop off" from a friend who dropped me at the front of The Bear. As the front gate was locked (which I didn't notice until after my friend drove off!) I had to walk all the way round to gain access from the car park, which isn't clearly marked from the road. Could I suggest an indication as to where the car park is situated?
Good location
No coaster for tea cup.No heater in bathroom.
I've stayed at the Bear many times and always enjoy it. Overall it is great but needs a little refurbishment.
Nothing except the rooms need a face lift.
Lovely location, atmospheric pub/hotel/restaurant with loads of history.
Room was a little dated and a few maintenance issues. Facilities in our room weren’t the most modern.
Very central location Atmospheric quirky interior
No handrails or grabrails the bathroom The offers in the restaurant didn’t seem to match up with offers on the website
Lovely hotel overall, friendly and helpful staff, room was clean, bed comfy & great breakfast in the morning. I would defiantly recommend.
I couldn’t fault the hotel
Bed, bathroom ,location.
Breakfast. Buying drink at 4.55 then being told bar shuts @5
Clean room with a comfortable bed, location a plus to this very old accommodation.
Perfect location being right in the town centre. Nice big car park available free of charge to hotel residents. We arrived in the morning and the very nice receptionist kindly found us a room which was available so we were able to check in really early. She looked after us well during our visit.
Staff were excellent, breakfast was excellent.Location for what we needed was very good. Overall a good hotel.
Room was clean but let down by material state especially the carpet, that was in a pretty poor state. Taped down in places.
Lovely clean room helpful staff definitely recommend..
I never ate in the Bear but from what I did see the food looked delicious..
Good location and food was good.
Our room was a little worn in places and needed some updating.
Close to town, on site parking, the staff on reception and in the bar on the first day/night and lovely food in the bar
The furniture in the room was very old with the table being very damaged. The staff on Tuesday night were not nice. Very unfriendly, the main bar was shut for some reason but we could use the bar next to the dining room. Unfortunately there was some very loud music on that sounded like badly sung karaoke and it was LOUD. Very loud. We were the only ones in the bar and there were 2 couples in the restaurant. We asked the barman to turn it down as we couldn’t hear our son and his family across the table. He muttered something and turned it down slightly then turned it up even higher within the next 15 minutes. I then spoke to a younger bloke and asked him to turn it down which he did, thankfully. It was the final night with our son and his family so we were doing a lot of talking
Well located for my needs and a short walk to the train station.Didn’t eat in the hotel
No dislikes but the en-suite bathrooms need some upgrading.Didn’t bother me but might others
