- Tired old style hotel ..room was OK but quite dark and eighties look lovley view of the goods inward would have liked a room in the main hotel not the courtyard
- Clean and character building
- Good location nice food and drink
Cons -
- View of the goods inwards area round the back if I was a local working contractor from elsewhere it would have done but we were tourists to the area for 2 nights ..poor room choice by the reception staff they know the type of customers to put in that sort of room .we weren't expecting luxury but a decent room with a view could have been allocated
- Location a bit challenging especially from one direction narrow roads
- Bed in deluxe superior room a little hard for me. Room above very noisy when people move about floorboards noisy.

Good location nice food and drink
Bed in deluxe superior room a little hard for me. Room above very noisy when people move about floorboards noisy.
A lovely swimming pool, the family room was lovely - the bed was excellent. Food was delicious in the restaurant. Breakfast was also excellent
The rooms smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke which made our clothes smell. The room was absolutely freezing - we were tempted to go out and buy fab heaters. We were only there a night and did speak to staff. It was a shame as everything else was excellent.
The location was unique, the staff extremely helpful and friendly and the kids loved the indoor swimming pool.
The breakfast could have been enriched with more options.
Breakfast was good and the location was beautiful, the clean air and lovely scenery.
Would have been great if there was a hot tub or a jacuzzi
Location
Dirty room, cobwebs on ceiling and walls, food was poor
Location, indoor pool, large car park
There could be a lack of seating in the communal lounge areas, when the library was being used for private functions
The staff were very professional and polite. Breakfast was 10/10
The bed was super hard, the decor was very dated, the water pressure in the shower was poor, the walls and ceiling were paper thin you could hear every word spoken in the hallway and every step of the people above. Also when trying to relax in the morning you can hear rhe cleaners banging around from about 8am even though check out isn’t until 11am
The area
The staff were jobsworth, the spa was cold and miserable and the whole hotel was faded
Staff were very friendly and helpful - food was very good
General hotel decor very tired
Location
Cobwebs in the room, it was dirty and the food was poor
The gym and pool was ok and the food was nice
The bedroom was freezing :( we paid extra to be in the executive sweet and it was the most uncomfortable bed I've ever stayed on in a hotel it was rock solid and bumpy all over and was 2 single beds put together so had a big bump of a line down the middle of the bed.. woke up with a bad back and freezing it seriously ruined what could of been a really nice stay .. had also seen loads of people had moaned about the heating beforehand so it's not like they didn't know so feel betrayed to be honest
Friendly staff right from the start at reception. Waitress at breakfast were all happy, quick & professional. For such a young team they were brilliant. Breakfast was also fantastic. Would definitely like to go when its warmer & make use of facilities.
Only slight criticism was the car park was a little rough. & few lights out in room which house keeping need to check more otherwise we had a lovely clean room....& lovely comfortable bed.
I would never stay at this hotel again. We checked out early. We were asked to pay on arrival with no offer of help with our bags and cases after having driven for hours in the rain. During the day, it was very unusual to find anyone at reception. Facilities are basic. Spa seems okay but
Rooms were hot and / or cold and uncomfortable. Decor was cheap and very basic. Bedding was also cheap and uncomfortable. We were booked into two rooms that were miles apart from each other.
Very spacious, beautiful and clean room, brilliant facilities and overall a very nice atmosphere
Can’t say there was anything not to like about the property
I have stayed here many times while in the area visiting friends. This is an old fashioned hotel with excellent service. All rooms are well appointed but the superior rooms are worth the extra , large comfortable and well appointed with stunning views towards exmoor. The bed was very comfortable, the food delicious and well priced and staff lovely as always. Amazing value for money.
Having to leave.
Great hotel, best nights sleep in a very comfy bed, evening meal and breakfast very good
Full of character- many different areas to sit in and relaxGood sized room and well equippedGood views on the hill
A little tired in parts; but nothing serious or to detract from the stay
Good location, convenient for the airport
The room was too hot during the night, and the bed was very uncomfortable
