Pros +
- The area and views are beautiful, staff super friendly and hotel in general is really clean.
- Spending time with my son.
- Lovely room - comfortable and plenty of space.
Cons -
- The room was much smaller than 25m squared, we hardly had room to move in it. We were given a room at the bottom of the stairs, near the draft of the corridor - after several attempts to get a new room, the grumpy staff member was unhelpful and unapologetic. The whole venue is run down and needs an overhaul - the carpets had holes, the walls grubby, everywhere smelt and the swimming pool mouldy and parts of the roof missing. Also, as I had my son, there are literally no games or entertainment for kids. Luckily we brought playing cards with us.
- No heating, no hot water. No apology offered about this.Food wasn't great in the bar either.
- Rooms a bit aged, food wasn’t very nice

Location, comfy bed
Rooms a bit aged, food wasn’t very nice
Perfect location, good standard room...everything worked as it should. Didn't sample breakfast/dinner so can't comment.
Improve outdoor lighting at carpark area.Bar not open later, or available to residents.
Breakfast good, plenty of choice.Dinner good but limited choice.
Shower was great but only just warm enough.Understandable I suppose, they have to make savings where they can with the hike in employment costs.
Good breakfast and location
Advertised with pool only to find Saturday morning had lessons so couldn’t use the poolMain meal no choice of cheeses for cheese board only had one bottle Italian Merlot on wine list available
Good location for Harry Potter would definitely visit hear again
We paid 100 pound for a night to stay here everything was good but the only downfall I must say is there is no mini fridge u only get tea or coffee there is no water (probably be able to get some if u asked but that’s not the point) for 100 pound a night I think u should get water coffee and tea not jut the 2 so it’s lost a star for me but anything else was spot on
The bed was very comfy, the room was quiet, the pool was really warm, staff were very friendly and the breakfast was great! Would visit again.
There are a few bits that need updating here and there but it didn't affect our stay.
Location and staff
Room had lots of holes in the walls, didn’t restock any tea or coffee for us just a kettle. Shower had slight dirt in it and overall just not as good as last time.
Location was perfect for our trip to Warner studios, hôtel was charming
Not crazy about the food which was ok but a bit dry
Great location both the grounds and in relation to Warner Bros Studies with impressive looking parts of the old building; there is decent parking. Food was decently cooked and arrived promptly after ordering, just as we'd asked.
Many rooms of the hotel are in newer buildings that look a bit tired/dated; we had three rooms in all across the family and all had minor scrapes on the walls (from furniture) and some tears in the carpet; in one room, the bedding was clean but again ripped.Staff were very welcoming but a bit hit and miss as regarding serving food and drinks for dinner.
Was close to Harry Potter Studios, which was my reason for staying.
The carpet in the room was stained, which was a little disappointing. On arrival, the first lady at reception was absolutely lovely and made a great first impression. However, the second lady at reception when we were leaving was not very friendly, which unfortunately didn’t end our stay on the best note. The gentleman working at the bar also seemed quite grumpy. Although I said hello and goodbye, he gave very minimal, one-word responses and didn’t engage at all. This did affect the overall atmosphere and slightly dampened what could have been a much more enjoyable experience. I paid £128 for one night, and for that price I felt the overall experience was exceptionally poor value. I do appreciate that it was Valentine’s Day and prices may have been higher than usual; however, based on the condition of the room and the service received, it did not feel reflective of the amount paid.I understand that the standard rate appears to be closer to £60 on most dates, which, in my opinion, would be a more appropriate price point for the experience provided.
Great location for Harry Potter Studios.Superior room was lovely.Valentine’s three course meal delicious and good value for money. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
Swimming pool area was dated.
The pool
Dated , toilet seat broken , sink blocked, tv not working , had to change rooms, phone not working. At the bar no one there for long periods?Unwelcoming receptionist when we arrived?
Lovely room. Especially when travelling with a little one.
Limited options on the dinner menu, wasn’t any pizzas available on the night we stayed, however staff were friendly and accommodating.
The hotel was convenient for visiting Harry Potter. Nice food and friendly staff.
The hotel’s exterior looks fantastic from the road, but inside it’s clear it’s outdated and needs a revamp. The warmth and character are missing and the photos exaggerate its appeal. Parts of the hotel smelt damp and there was a strong smell of cigarettes. While it claims to have facilities for disabled guests, I didn’t find any. The two disabled parking bays were used by non-blue badge holders and there was no ramp for wheelchairs, just a long flight of steps. There were no helpful signs either. The pool is off-limits for those with mobility issues due to the several steps down. It was warm but the entire area needs attention. Our superior room was decent but cramped. Bodgit and scarper had patched up the shower room. The food was good and the staff friendly.
closeness to where we visited
I contacted the room to ask if they had a lift or a ground floor room and they said no problem. When we arrived we were told that we had been allocated a 1st floor room with no lift. We changed rooms and found a television that could not display any channels and a Wi-fi that kept dropping out. We went home at 11pm.
Friendly professional staff, excellent facilities, large car park ( with no charge), restaurant on site which provided a good choice of meals.I really enjoyed my meal
The signage for parking could be a little clearer for the hotel reception and some lighting in the car park for predestreans would help too.
The staff were super professional. I told the two managers that I met that they have a really awesome team...Lisa and Vish ( managers) were the best I've ever come across in all my years. And Sara, George, Roxi and Chloe were very professional and hard working.
There were not any areas of concern for me.
