Cons -
- Very spread out.

- Room was not up to scratch considering the price and spa was underwhelming. Toilet in the room did not flush properly, cold tap ran hot and light on the mirror was not working. Spa was okay but not amazing as website would have you believe.

The cocktails , the grounds, the room ,
The noise from the rooms with children..
I have tried Grove suite and also Junior suite. And I am member at the spa. Only thing I can mention is that my member discount never got applied. Regards LV

The rooms, the spa, the cleanliness overall.
1. What is greatIt is a beautiful property in a lovely setting. Wonderfully maintained and laid out. Staff were fantastic and welcoming and extremely helpful. The winter programme had plenty of options and activities for all of us.GoodThe food was lovely but a bit overpriced for the offer. Glasshouse is a beautiful restaurant and most of the food was excellent. The Loinges are gorgeous but the food was a it hit and miss and some seemed a bit much (£19 for 3-4 pieces of crispy duck seems excessive).
Could improve- it was not obvious that all the kids activities would be removed and closed on 5 January. The soft play, playroom, games arcade were removed in the morning and we had nowhere to go with our son after breakfast in case we wanted some more time at the spa or a treatment. The kids pool also closed but we weren’t allowed to bring our son to the spa pool so we couldn’t really use it. The kids club is actually a day nursery - which is fine and great they have foster registration but this wasn’t evident when booking so our child expected a hotel/fun/holiday club and refused to stay in a day nursery. - the logistics of having to pre book everything in specific time slots, especially with small children, was a bit of a scheduling nightmare and made it all stressful and hard work. We couldn’t just walk in and out of activities because everything was 5-10 minute walk and required scheduling and booking. Setting the fire pit and marshmallows, kids activity club and family swim in the same 2 hour time slot was particularly unhelpful. The draw card was the combination of kids activities plus spa for adults plus family being able to swim together plus ease of beautiful grounds rooms and facilities. Making it a bit more seamless and easy to move around between things would lift the experience to be deserving of the high price. - finally, the first room we got was visibly dirty with layers of dust. Staff were quick to apologise and move us. However again on a 2 day trip that cost around £2k this added more mental load and waiting around. I spent a lot of time scheduling and rescheduling and managing which didn’t make it very relaxing and didn’t really manage to make use of the spa given overwhelmed with the scheduling. The room we got in the end was lovely.
Beautiful setting. Very nice room.Really great entertainment for kids!Wonderful SPA! Could easily spend there a few good days.Wonderful walks and great food options.( very pricey though).
The child bed was not the most comfortable.Restaurant prices are very high.
The whole hotel was beautiful. Spacious, lots of walking space outside
Could have done with more disabled parking
Exceptional cleaning, great staff beautiful place would definitely be returning!
Luxurious. Beautifully dressed for Christmas, and all the team are very welcoming, both in the hotel and The Glasshouse.
Sadly they don’t offer the wonderful ‘cherry on top’ deal anymore. It means we are unable to visit more often now. Such a shame.
I thought the room for the price and the fact it was a family room was a little small , However it was beautiful and the staff were fantastic
It’s a beautiful building, well appointed, largely kept immaculately, but it’s a bit meh by conventional standards. I mean, it’s still lovely, but three-and-half-stars-to-four-stars, miles off a five at the prices charged.
Details: the food prices were exorbitant - the curry restaurant produced no better than mildly-above-average takeaway food at four times the price. Conversely, the breakfast was fantastic, really superb choice, range and quality. The rooms - lighting, bathroom facilities, were good, but not superb. The charges for the facial - £220!!! - are daylight robbery. The lack of robes in the spa was embarrassing. What kind of a spa doesn’t have enough robes?
The grounds were beautiful but we couldn’t use them much due to the weather. The room was spacious and modern and had a lot of character. The buffet food was amazing and the highlight of the trip!
The children’s pool was not sufficient for a child friendly hotel, it was small and disappointing and we did not use it after seeing it.
The grounds
Bed was hard, room very basic, food average, spa average, not gods value for money
The grounds were very nice to walk around...Food was ok...The room was spacious, clean and visually aesthetic...Staff were polite and helped us on check-in, including the concierge. Loved the birthday chocolates sent to the room for my wife's birthday. Nice touch...
The long walk to our room....
afternoon tea in classic old part of house
Too may children out of control, twin room wasn't really a proper twin room . The beds were right next to each other and could not be separated properly due to the alcove, long soulless corridors full of children's party areas to get to our room, a barking dog next door, large unfriendly hotel which if found bland and upaaealing with too may people. too noisy breakfast was ruined by screaming children everywhere. came to relax and di not find anything relaxing about it apart from afternoon tea then it went downhill from then on on finding a room not what we were expecting
Everything about this hotel is unbelievable Relaxing in the spa, the returning to our room was beautiful, the grounds are immaculate Would recommend this place to everyone
Nothing at all
Great choice of services n facilities
No cover to access the Spa. It was constantly raining n therefore we got wet going there n back!!!!
staff were lovely, grounds are beautiful, room was great, very light & spacious, comfy bed. We ate at Madhu's for dinner which was delicious. We went on a Hawk Walk which was amazing
The spa could've been a little better, there wasn't a huge amount of bed/seating, a little cold, could do with a few more spa facilities
