Woodland Bay Hotel

I arrived from a late ferry after reception was closed, but the team put together a really helpful and clear video showing where my room was so it was easy to find. They even sorted out a later checkout for me as I was so late arriving. I was only there a relatively short period but I will be visiting again for sure. Room and Facilities were excellent.

Great location on the coast, friendly staff who make you feel at home, dog friendly as advertise, great not to be bombarded with a big set of rules, just a simple set of instructions to be respectful as you’d expect

Breakfast, although there was a good variety of cold options and was as advertised, I always like the option of a cooked breakfast, especially on a farm

Wi-fi signal in the room I was in was zero.

The rooms are very spacious. It's unusual to have a kitchenette in a room but so useful, especially when travelling alone as it is easy to prepare a meal. The selection for breakfast was very good. The room was spotlessly clean.

I have used the hotel for many years. When I stayed originally it had a restaurant , I understand the financial implications especially in an area like Girvan but would love to see the restaurant back :)

Very clean, convenient having facilities to have the self catering facilities but provided with a good selection of continental breakfast items. Very comfortable bed and lovely bathroom area. Big car park provided.

Spacious room & very clean & a very friendly welcome. An excellent selection of things left in our room and the fridge for breakfast. Amazing sunsets

No restaurant at the hotel and food had to be cooked in a microwave in the room.

Mattress needs replacing

The room was clean and well presented. The check in staff was friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was very good and no issues to be topped up. The room had a fantastic view of the beach, and a very peaceful location.

Recommendations: I would recommend the shower fittings are replaced. The water power is great but the shower head fittings were not and needs to be replaced. It was very hard not to soak the whole bathroom.

Great hotel located right on the A77 just outside Girvan. Our room was on the beach side and had excellent views of the town, and the beach.Room was spacious and bathroom also quite large. Items supplied for continental breakfast (cereal, croissants, ham, cheese, condiments etc.) Mini kitchen was great for preparing a light meal if you don't want to eat out.Hotel is a 5-10 minute drive from Girvan for restaurants etc. There is no restaurant at the hotel.

We were fine, but room was right next to the road which could be noisy for some - there are other rooms further from the road so check that if it may be an issue for you.

Pricey clean, loved the facilities especially the pre-stocked continental breakfast. I had the best shower I’ve had in a hotel in a long time with crazy good water pressure! Would highly recommend.

Breakfast lovely, plenty of it. Lovely king size bed.

Room was lovely. Lovely beach literally over the road. Breakfast provided was perfect.

Bit far out from town, too far to walk safely at night. Window lock was broken.

Decent size room.

(1) It is not a "hotel". There is no restaurant. It is more like a motel or self catering rooms. It is vastly overpriced for what it is . They leave some fruit/cereals etc in the room.(2) If you want dinner, you'll need to go into the town or phone a takeaway. If you're there on a Monday or Tuesday, options in town are limited. (3) It is right beside the main A-road to ferry terminal/ Northern Ireland. If you need to open the window, it can be loud. The night i was there was particularly warm, so had to open the window - and got hardly any sleep.

Very clean and well presented. Nicely stocked fridge and tray for continental breakfast. Fantastic water pressure in the shower. A very quiet and scenic location.

No housekeeping to replenish tray or towels. Replacements available on request at desk.

Lovely property in lovely setting

No pub or restaurant within property as stated on booking.com so found it very remote, and expensive for what we received as it was only a room.

Clean, well stocked continental breakfast provided, comfortable and spacious room.

You could hear traffic noise , but the road quietened at night and the double glazed windows helped.
