Staff upgraded room with stunning view, breakfast was very good and location excellent

Hotel a bit tired and could benefit from decoration and works to improve

Window was broke and wouldn't open more than a couple inches. Therefore, It was so hot it was just a plain miserable stay in the room.Pictures definitely didn't show an accurate description of how aged furnishings and amenities were. Needed basic cleaning, vacuuming etc. Not to mention deep cleaning and fixing up!

Location

Paint peeling in room and bathroom. Elevator not working. Multiple flights of stairs to go up and down with luggage. No assistance from staff. Trouble with reservation. Could not provide room paid for. Was given a lessor room. Not helpful in where to park...just find a car lot. Not good advice if one is not familiar with the area. Will not stay or recommend this hotel.

Location, convenience

Obvious signs of decay on the building- mold on walls, peeling plaster. Room was very hot; window wouldn’t open. No wifi available.

I booked this hotel about an hour or so before arriving. I paid £53 for the night and I have no complaints whatsoever. I was greeted by a lady who was able to be professional and personable all at the same time. Our room was clean and comfortable and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Bedroom had small room for child inside. Breakfast room was nice and comfortable seating.

no hot water in bathroom 3 of us had no shower or bath. Breakfast milk was off so couldn't have cereal, dried up bacon, dried up tattie scones. View small space between two building walls to very small part of car park otherwise no view at all.

The breakfast was good and varied. The view from our room was great over the harbour. Some very nice little places to visit in Oban

the hotel paintwork above the window in room 17 could use some seeing to. As 2 disabled people (not wheelchair though) it would have been nice to have had a car parking bay reserved for our arrival and stay.

No hot water and mold on ceiling in room. Was informed it would be fixed and it was not.

Bathroom was noisy, elevator was sketchy, the rooms above the 1st floor seemed to be slightly less of a good condition.

Food in the restaurant was good, as was the breakfast. The staff were friendly and efficient. The location was good.

The lift in the hotel did not work. The room was in bad need of updating. You could here the people in the room above walking across their floor. The view from our window was a roof. The bathroom was in need of updating.

It was undergoing a much needed renovation. Totally misrepresented by the pictures on booking.com. It was old, worn, dirty, very musty and damp. They changed our room as the first one was awful. The second was a little better but the hallway smelled like cat urine.

The breakfast was ok

The hotel is in desperate need of a comprehensive refurb. It is very scruffy, poorly maintained and not as clean as it should be.

I really beleive back in the 60's and 70's this hotel would have been superb, but now, could do with some paint, new windows and some much needed TLC. We did stay during one of the worst storms in many years, and at one point we thought the windows would come in!!! Breakfast was ok. Rebecca on reception when we arrived was very helpful. The location was very good!! The lounge, was in my mind, the best room in the hotel....comfortable and the views (the storm) were great!!!

I was given a room that should not have been given to anyone in its current state.The curtains were badly ripped.There was a palm sized hole in the carpet.It actually felt quite sleazy.When I booked the room the photos of the supreme double did not in any way match this room.I would not stay again.I would not recommend it to friends.
