Small room but great view of sea

Outstanding staff: just the right amount of friendliness. Charming. The breakfast was wonderful: a variety of high quality choices. Lovely breakfast room.The setting/location was also great: close enough to walk from the train station and into the town center but quiet and peaceful.

The room was a bit small.

The staff of the hotel was exceptional. David was an excellent host and provided a great introduction to the Scotch whisky collection in the lounge. Breakfast was delicious and the view from the hotel overlooking Oban is delightful. The ferry terminal and city center were about 8 minutes away on foot.

The hotel exceeded our expectations and we were delighted with all aspects of our stay. We were only sorry we were only there for one night as we would have loved to sit in the bar and the lounge, but we just didn’t have the time. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. David the Manager really made us feel welcome and we chatted a few times during our stay. His knowledge of the town, and his recommendation of a place to get our evening meal was very helpful. Our room was well furnished, comfortable and warm and we would certainly like to come back again.

Location, staff, charm

Beautiful location great for the ferry terminal. Only a short walk from the train station. The rooms were warm, comfortable and spotless. The staff were outstanding with their professionalism and friendliness.

Bar drinks were expensive

Staff were friendly and very helpful.Excellent breakfast included in room price. £130 per night or £140 per night with free cancellation for our stay (off season)Good location close to town centre, though not in town.Didn't have dinner as menu limited at this time of year, but plenty options nearby. Excellent choice for breakfast at the manor house. Over the 2 nights we tried the full scottish breakfast, savoury pancakes and smoked haddock. All were of high standard.

Nothing to complain about.

Breakfast was excellent: great choice and quality. Breakfast staff were particularly attentive and pleasant. The room,even the standard room, was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The whole building was quite charming with a great view over the town and harbour. We stayed on a wet week in November but thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Oban has several good eating places for evening meals and we liked The Oban Inn! The location was great for a short walk into the town and the ferry terminal.

We felt that the smoked fish board was over priced at £29. There was not much fish for 2 people to share. In contrast, the breakfast portions were very generous.

The house was very pretty, well cared for, and there were lots of little additions I appreciated like the biscuits in the room, the soaps, selection of teas, and smart TV. I couldnt stay for the breakfast but the facilities looked very good.

Wonderful small hotel and restaurant. Gorgeous Georgian home, beautifully decorated and welcoming staff. Our room had a lovely view of Oban’s harbor. David welcomed us and was extremely knowledgeable about area, food and beverages. We walked around the charming town and then relaxed with a cocktail and dinner is the cozy dining room ( only 8 tables - so reserve) which faces the sea. A lounge is also available in which one can relax and read. We were advised that the restaurant could only do “bar food” at this time ( of year?). But the food was excellent. We had a meat lasagna preceded by an excellent appetizer of smoked fish. Room was great and comfortable beds with excellent shower.Best value of our entire trip ( Edinburgh to Highlands and Ske) and we would highly recommend this hotel.

breakfast was fantastic. well presented and a great menu to choose from. the room was cosy and comfortable and the view was stunning. the staff were amazing throughout our stay, they were helpful, informative and i could tell they take a lot of pride in the manor house

The property was warm and welcoming- felt like we could have stayed much longer. The hotel host, David, was exceptional in every way! I was so impressed by his ability to juggle a lot and make it look effortless!! He was knowledgeable and fun! His whiskey tasting was so informative but super entertaining as well! The location is perfect- the room was lovely and the breakfast was delicious. I'm going back to Oban and would not choose different accommodations. I definitely recommend The Manor House!

Lovely view, not too far from town centre. Breakfast was superb. Nothing was too much trouble to the staff

This was by far our favourite stop , close to downtown, great view , clean, staff are above and beyond, Breakfast was great

No problems at all

The location is delightful, a nice 10 minute walk from the train station, with beautiful views over the port. Our room was quite small, but very cozy and comfortable and the public rooms are large, comfortable and cheerful. The meals were well prepared and enjoyable. Best of all was the staff, who are all personable, kind and helpful. They know the area well and had great suggestions to help us plan our time. We especially appreciated David’s extensive knowledge of whisky!
