Pros +
- Brilliant family room with couch and lots of room
- The staff were amazing - friendly and courteous and extremely helpful. Rooms are a great size.Kids facilities are brilliant too - although it costs extra for most of them.Food was amazing in the Coach House Easy to get to and not a long journey for us.
- Excellent for family’s. Food lovely, rooms spacious and clean. Lovely welcoming staff, would highly recommend for a family getaway.
Cons -
- The hotel needs a good revamp to decor and furnishings. The prices are too much for the outdated room decor and worn furnishings in the lobby. One of our adjoining rooms had a broken safety lock and lock on door and a broken safety restrictor on window. Not ideal with a child. The window handles were loose and felt like they would break off. The additional process for the kids activities was quite expensive- a bundle deal for residents would be good.
- Kids meals in The Coach House were too expensive.
- Food in restaurant awful, whole hotel has got grubby. Breakfast was dreadful. So disappointing. Used to be a fabulous place to stay

We had a fabulous room (137). The room was very comfortable. Also, the staff in this hotel are exceptional.
Kids meals in The Coach House were too expensive.
It has changed big time,we really did not enjoy it at all

Child friendly, playpark was great, so much to do!
Alarms went off, fault in the gym apparently, causing our autistic child to have a panic attack, staff were helpful to ensure it didn’t happen again. Pool needs cleaned, but they’re doing work on it soon so makes sense.
Lots of activities for children, beautiful hotel and area. Got my jeans dirty on the helter skelter and house keeping had them cleaned and dried within 2 hours.
Check in is late I felt like we didn’t get use of all the amenities
Kids facilities
Food was just ok in coach house
Not too far away
Out dated 50% of things seemed to be working For example - hair dryers in the changing rooms.Final straw was charging £4.40 for a jug of diluted juice and £1.30 for a dash of blackcurrant juice. In a family resort, we really felt ripped off.
Breakfast was good.Sadly, we couldn't get a snack in evening from the bar only crisps. Reception the following morning said we should have been able to order but guess bar staff couldn't be bothered, very disappointing. We didn't want a dinner as arrived late.
Hotel is dated and needs a refresh.
The hotel is in transition and we appreciate that and whilst many features are still the same such as the comfort of the hotel in general..the staff are always exceptional and of course the food is out of this world generally
As a mature couple who have frequently stayed here, we were a little uncomfortable with the change of focus to the younger generation and we really do appreciate why this is happening we are thinking possibly of looking somewhere different in the future.
The location was great and the hotel was suited and geared towards young families. This created a lively environment, without being overwhelming.
The breakfast location was too small for the number of guests, resulting in queues, We tried to get a coffee elsewhere in order create space, but this turned out to be impossible save for the breakfast location.
helpfulness of desk staff re watching football in the bar and eating dinner in the bar. Why don't you do bar meals?
Having to wait in the morning for breakfast because my name wasn't on the list. I presented my room key and said I was pushed for time and needed to have breakfast quickly, as I had a work appointment 12 miles away. I found the member of staff unhelpful and insisting that my name wasn't on the list, keeping me waiting, despite the fact that I had my room key as proof of my residence. Teach your staff to have more empathy and understanding and not insist on petty rules, when guests have proof of staying in the hotel.
Breakfast: quite a good selection on offer for breakfast, with attentive staff on duty. Dinner: Very good in Fratelli's with attentive staff. Pool and spa facilities lovelyThe location: it is right beside Roe Valley Country Park which is absolutely stunning at this time of the year (autumn).
Dinner not great in The Coach House where the veg options were limited. Also, although there was a coat rail for coats, at no point did any of the staff offer to take anyone's coat, even when the one belonging to a customer at a neighbouring table fell on the ground. Another neighbour had to ask twice for crayons for their child while waiting for food. If the venue is four star, then I'd expect the service to be the same. Room: Surprised that there wasn't any decaffeinated tea, coffee or herbal teas included in provisions, especially given that it is a spa hotel; also surprised that the venue is still using small plastic bottles of shampoo, shower gel etc - not very eco friendly
The food was beautiful and staff in the Coach restaurant were lovely.
Staff at check-in did not smile and weren't very helpful. Same person 2 of the mornings very pleasant to other patrons who were more formally dressed. My husband were there to relax and so dressed in jeans etc and trainers. I really feel some staff could benefit from some training on unconscious bias although I suspect their bias was completely conscious. We spent close to £1k for our stay and our experience was 2* at best. Our 'Deluxe Suite' was on a small corridor off the residents lounge. Access was consistently blocked which was frustrating as well as a health and safety breach.Room was single glazed and either sauna hot or freezing cold. The thermostat did not work at all and the bathroom was freezing cold day and night. There was nowhere to store lugggae which is not what I would expect in a suite. Space in the single wardrobe was taken up with an ironing board and shower door not sealed properly.
Property good
Children’s playground below our bedroom very noisy. My husband got a long black hair in his bacon. My omelette was very greasy
Lodge was excellent
Over priced, Galgorm prices but not standards.Pool and changing rooms not very clean
Location ok, bit of a queue for breakfast
Adult and children times separate in the spa.
Pool , breakfast area and food
Carpet need change old & stained Update hair dyer
It’s a lovely comfortable hotel with very pleasant and friendly staff. The room we stayed in was spotlessly clean and very comfortable.
