The staff and service we received were excellent. They went over and above to make us happy. We had a fantastic little stay to Uppingham and would definitely recommend to friends. Thanks also to the chef and breakfast staff for our wonderful leaving breakfast you did a beautiful job .....

Think building needs a window cleaner

Good location right on the Main Street

The bedroom and bathroom were both cold as radiators not working properly. Fortunately there was a portable heater. Shower was very small. Feint smell of smoke. Breakfast was slow - got drinks muddled up. No menus and cleaner was working in the room where people were eating - all a bit bizarre.

Beams in room need cushions. I banged my head- hard. I'm only 5'6!

Really great, friendly staff. Great decor. Good food. Really popular with a great atmosphere. THE comfiest bed I have ever slept in!!

It is clearly a locals pub so really busy in the evening. As it’s a small pub (16th century coaching inn) it’s crowded and noisy. It’s not that we didn’t like it. It was brilliant to see a pub so busy, but just a bit too busy for a group of girls wanting to catch up!!

It felt a little tired and scuffed. There was clutter, vacuum cleaners, boxes etc in corridors and the bar.

Historic and welcoming. Excellent breakfast and coffee!

Staff were very helpful & friendly. Location was great & the bed was very comfortable.

I found the shower cubicle in my room a little on the small side & there was a spider in it (though it is peak spider season, so not really the hotels fault)

Good was great and nice atmosphere. Comfy, clean and characterful rooms. Parking also very handy. Thanks for having us!

Lovely staff. Very clean. A lovely room with excellent bathroom and comfortable bed. Plenty of tea, coffee etc - even a satchet of last milk. An old building with character.

The menu wasn't to our taste. Very little traditional English food. Our fault not theirs. Breakfast excellent though.

Room was a nice size. Had a bath and a shower. Staff were friendly

Mattress springs coming through. Bed very uncomfortable. Shower handle broken. Dressing table mirror broken. Worst Caesar salad I’ve ever eaten (chicken on bone and dressing wasn’t Caesar)

The young lady that served us breakfast was exceptionally nice. Very efficient and polite. The room was very clean and had good facilities.

The only thing that slightly spoilt the stay was the heat in the room. The window didn’t open and the portable air conditioning unit did not blow enough cold air out to cool the room. It was uncomfortably hot, especially at night.

The location is stunning, the area is beautiful. The hotel itself is right in the middle of the High Street so its great for exploring the area. The staff were extremely warm and welcoming and the room was very comfortable and quiet.

The room itself was perfectly fine although if I had to mention anything, the shower cubicle was on the small side and the room itself was quite dark when getting ready etc. A full length mirror would also have been great, but overall id certainly recommend staying here.

Perfect central location, great breakfast! Friendly helpful staff and nice modern bathroom and all clean. Nice comfortable double bed.

The room was a bit bleak, grey walls with no pictures or any decoration. The tv was just put on a window ledge along with a couple tower fans. Old furniture (maybe part of the look) and just a metal clothes rail. Bed was a comfortable double. No instructions for internet in the room. The night we stayed had a wedding and was very loud until 10:30pm. Not such a complaint as we’ve stayed above pubs before so kind of expected it. But thought for the money, it should be reflected in the disruption.

Room needs better organising. Three quarters of an hour wait for a poorly cooked breakfast not good enough.

Lots of character and the staff were excellent.

Mattress wasn’t very comfortable and the evening meal, although reasonably priced, was below average.
