Pros +
- We didn't eat there so can't comment. Bar prices rather high!
- Lovely hotel, comfortable room, very clean bathroom. Very good meal with excellent service, particularly for a busy Friday night close to Christmas.
- How friendly the staff were. Quality of the food.
Cons -
- Couldn't get shower to produce other than scalding water. Small inconvenience for a short stay. Told reception on leaving.
- Bed was too hard
- TV a bit tricky to get started as Netflix was very pushy. A helpful 'get you started' card to get it going where we wanted it would be useful - especially as some of the buttons on the remote were too worn to read. I had to ask what to press to activate subtitles.Minor points which were overcome.

Our bags we left pre 16.00 were already taken to our room when we returned later . I though a mistake had been made and we were in a superior not a standard room! Plenty of room, everything spotless. Liked the supply of a book with local interest. Perhaps it could have included a card with Cogito Bookshop info? Good shower with easy access for my partner with mobility problems. Lovely to find heated towel rail on during the night when needing the loo. Very cosy blanket to snuggle while watching tv and nibbling the shortbread biscuits provided. Breakfast excellent - perfect poached eggs! All staff most pleasant and helpful.

Great location, lovely village, within walking distance to train station, spacious room. Large bathroom.
Did not feel this was a good value. Sofa & couch had stains as did the carpet.
This property is very nice. It is well appointed and we had a large comfortable room. The restaurant is excellent.
I liked everything.
Great location. Beautiful building and well-equipped rooms. Excellent food
Owner can be quite snippy. Didn’t love that.
Lovely room, good and interesting food in the evening and breakfast. Nice ambiance with the public frontage when the windows open. Friendly efficient staff. Car park is nice to have in such a central location.
All good
Beautiful nice style hotel. Beautiful and comfortable room with amenities. Lovely breakfast and helpful staff. Excellent location. Would return
Great breakfast and dinner was a pleasant delight. Oysters on menu good even though pricey
Reception a bit too curt on arrival so no info on room cleaning, nor in room.

Warm welcome great location and large room at rear very quiet
Price of breakfast
Food was excellent and room clean, tidy and well presented. The staff were all very welcoming and helpful. Good central location very close to the Abbey.
The sign on the hotel was difficult to read so could not find it at first. There was a lack of lounge or place to relax other than your room but this didn’t impact on our stay.
We loved everything about the Beaumont - but most of all it was the kind and thoughtful attention from the brilliant staff that made it so memorable. On a busy Friday evening we were thoughtfully (and intentionally) placed in a quiet spot for dinner (without asking for this). My brother and I were travelling with my 97 year old mum, and that thoughtfulness meant we were able to have a conversation that was so special (in the way you sometimes do when you're away from home!) and it simply wouldn't have happened in a busy bar. Added to that, the rooms were gorgeous, the food was amazing and all our needs were met so beautifully. This is a lovely, special place, with gorgeous staff who we greatly appreciated :-) They also totally helped us with the parking and considering my mum's needs. Thank you!
Nothing we didn't like!
Beautiful property typical Old English service and values with lovely polite and helpful staff
We enjoyed the calm ambiance, a very comfortable room, great customer service, excellent breakfasts, easy central location in town, all on top of being a perfect place to catch up for coffee or evening drinks with friends. Looking forward to visiting again!
Location, spotlessly clean, excellent facilities, great staff
Beautiful room, really comfortable. Staff very helpful and friendly. Great location
accommodation and staff were all superb. Food in the evening and at breakfast above what we expected.
Booked in advance to stay here as I was attending a wedding nearby. Perfect location, easy to find, and ideal for what I needed. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was exceptional and staff were friendly, professional and always happy to help. Would highly recommend and hope to return soon
