The County Hotel

Central location. Easy walk to bus station and train station. The perfect location to visit entire Hadrian¿s wall and Newcastle areas. Train to York. Food was amazing. Homey environment.

The County Hotel is one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. A large, beautiful, comfortable room and bathroom, excellent customer service from all members of the staff, a brilliant pub with a wonderful, social, neighborhood atmosphere and delicious food at any time of day, a lovely breakfast both cold and hot for those who stay here, dog friendly, centrally located and mere blocks from both bus and train station -- this is a hotel that all other hotels should strive to be.

A cozy pub with special dedicated areas for overnight guests to relax. Staff were extremely helpful and welcoming.

The room was very clean, the bed comfortable, plenty of hot water and pressure. The food was very good. There are no shortcomings with this property. This is my second time staying here. Can't think why I would not stay here again when visiting Hexham.

No car parking, and what was available was a ad-hoc which resulted in car having to be parked somewhere distance away and being disabled did make stay somewhat difficult.

Only niggle was a long wait for breakfast and none was arranged during breakfast service to ask if we wanted more tea or coffee Empty plates were left a while once guests had finished Room 1 was above the bar so really loud / ear plugs provided but we found them uncomfortable so didn’t help Room was beautiful dispute this one thing

Enjoyed our stay at The County Hotel Hexham, which is a really interesting market town.Friendly welcome, good rooms, very good food and excellent value.Recommended.

Spacious, very nice room.

It's very unpleasant to be forced to have large, filthy dogs around when you try to enjoy a great pub meal. The hotel even boasts about being "dog friendly", showing no understanding of how annoying and uncomfortable this can be for other people that these dog's owners.

Lovely clean hotel, nice welcome, everything explained by manager and cases taken up to our room for us. Great location. Beautiful tasty breakfast. Good service at the bar.

We booked a family room, which turned out was room 7. It was above the kitchen , this meant you could hear a humming noise from 7am in the morning until they were switched the ovens/generators off at 9pm at night. Didn't really affect us as we wake up early anyhow. Plus bin lorries taking rubbish away about 7am behind our room. I can understand this would be annoying to anyone who wanted a lie in !

Great to have the choice of a full vegetarian breakfast on the breakfast menu, portion was large, very filling.. Also nice to have a vegetarian choice on the Steak and bottle of wine night offer, not something we've come across previously.

Room was really nice but could hear every word from room above until after midnight so will request a higher room next time.
