- We kept the door leading onto the balcony opened slightly during night. Someone in the room next door smoked a cigarette outside the next morning and the smoke came into our room in the morning.
- The weather and we forgot our swimsuits.

Lovely garden room. Had a brilliant view of the river. Nice friendly staff
Beautiful hotel well located in the countryside. You can get to Kielder by car in about 15 minutes. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and the food was beautiful.
Loved every minute of my stay great views from the room was everything you needed and staff were welcoming location was great
We liked everything about our stay at Riverdale. The staff were lovely and friendly. A big shout out to barman james!! Room was lovely clean warm with a fabulous view. Food and drink enjoyable and very dog friendly
The weather and we forgot our swimsuits.
Had an enjoyable stay. Staff were excellent very helpful. Breakfast was very nice. Will be back
I really enjoyed my stay at Riverdale Hotel - the facilities were very good but the most important part of the experience was the staff who were all very professional, friendly and welcoming.
Lovely, friendly, comfortable hotel with great staff and good food.
Spacious room, staff friendly, but not very professional. The swimming pool is good and the water is clean.
Installations downstairs in need of renovation. The changing rooms for the swimming pool need refurbishing. On arriving you have to sign a paper saying you won't drink outside alcohol in the rooms. Never had that before. In my opinion the food is not cooked on site. I saw the delivery lorry, the next day. My brother, who had stayed there before said the food wasn't half as good as before.
Lovely location, outstanding food, friendly staff, well appointed bar.
Lovely building, restaurant & bar to a very high standard, some areas would benefit from maintenance / decoration
Polite, helpful, friendly stsff. Very accommodating with the dog. Excellent food.
The food was excellent and the staff were very helpful and friendly
The bathroom radiator didn’t seem to be working so there was water running down the inside of the window and the bathroom was cold
Our room was very large and warm with a very comfortable bed. The staff tried very hard to look after us and they were friendly and willing. The food both at dinner and breakfast was excellent and very reasonably priced.
I feel with few tweaks this could be a 10 out of 10 hotel, minor things like the washbasin not being cleaned one day, and towels not changed. No drama but needs to be worked on. My biggest gripe was that we came back one afternoon having missed lunch, we asked for sandwiches from the afternoon menu which was in our room and said these were available until 1800. At 1530 we were told the kitchen was closed as the chef had gone home and would not be back until later. I strongly feel that if a hotel offers something it should be available.
No drama - everything was as it should be and staff were friendly. Good location for work, as not much else around the area.
Excellent local food, beautifully cooked and plentiful. Staff courteous and helpful. Management knowledgeable and very organised.
We were satisfied on all fronts.
Exceptionally beautiful setting a short walk from the village. Easy parking, clean comfortable room, great breakfast, nice evening meal and friendly staff
Too minor to mention
Friendly staff.Great location for the Pennine Way.Lovely place to spend a rest day while hiking the Pennine Way.Only a few minutes walk into Bellingham Village.Food lovely.Room lovely, had a balcony.
The pool could have been better. The changing rooms weren't great either.
Friendly staff, great food at reasonable cost. On suite was modern.
Tired infrastructure in need of investment and general tlc
Bed was super comfortable, the breakfast was good, the room was perfect to stay with a pet (with garden access and view), surrounded by nature at night with owls, foxes and deer to be heard and very friendly staff. Late check-in was made super easy.
The room was very hot when we arrived, but that was easily solved by opening the garden door and sitting outside for a while enjoying the night sky...
