- Lovely room and a nice quiet space! Very clean and well looked after. Grounds are beautiful even in the midst of winter!
Cons -
- Only one thing - the tv in the room! The remote didn’t really work and there’s no smart tv so couldn’t watch Netflix
- Postcode incorrect on booking.com.
- Checking out and having to return home.

The room and breakfast
The dining experience overall. The room is large and very impersonal plus the evening menu was limited
Really gorgeous hotel and grounds. Lovely, friendly staff who were very warm and welcoming. My room was really nice and spotlessly clean. Nice toiletries and a great shower. Dinner and breakfast were very good.
A couple of the restaurant staff seemed fairly new and green. They were very nice so this isn't a huge negative and people have to learn somewhere. It's just something I noticed.
Breakfast at the hotel was generally good; however, the variety of breads and fruits was quite limited. The hotel had a good location, convenient for getting around.
The hotel was well located, and breakfast was generally good. What could be improved is the variety of breads and fruits offered.
Great food lovely staff
Had to pay 25 pound for dog ...seems a lot as cost me 10 pound in every other hotel I stayed
Love this place we got married here and Dan the manager is amazing
Man suite needs referbing and more family room options
The hotel and grounds were absolutely stunning. Every single staff member was polite, welcoming and couldn’t do enough. Breakfast was lovely and it’s so nice not having to worry about where to dogs will be because they can sit with you. Will definitely stay again.
Perfect stay, staff couldn't be more helpful!
Stayed two nights Dinner, Bed and Breakfast and food was beautiful. If we were being picky, would have liked to have seen a different menu choice on the second evening. Not sure when they rotate the menu, but there was plenty of choice anyway.
Location was perfect as we were there for a wedding in low wood bay, just a few minutes walk away.Nice and clean, friendly staff
Could have done with lamps on bedside tables.Coffee at the breakfast was not the best
Lovely staff and stay briery wood, the rooms are good sizes and comfortable.Lovely food in the restaurant and breakfast would highly recommend and will return
The food was lovely and the location was great.
I felt it wasn’t very clean in the lounge areas, tables wasn’t wiped over when drinks were removed. We stayed two nights and the lounge cleaned once while we were there
We felt very comfortable as soon as we arrived and the food was fantastic. Large comfortable bed, clean room and a coffee machine …. Which we appreciated.
Lovely place, staff friendly and welcoming.Very clean rooms well set outLovely grounds with plenty of parkingBreakfast very nice
Nothing bed a little hard but otherwise all was good
Clean, welcoming and great location.
The only thing that let it down was the shower. It was electric so the power was poor and getting it to be right temperatures pain. That said, the bathroom was lovely!
The staff made the visit, very helpful and friendly
To be picky the shower was questionable, the shower head too heavy therefore not easy to keep up
A quiet spot just 2 miles from Ambleside, a busy hub in South Lakes. Briery Wood is peaceful has wonderful views, just a perfect spot.
Location, clean
There was only electric shower which wasn’t even working . Had cold shower in the morning in 0 degree outside .
