- The Spa was amazing and made the stay for us. Bed was very comfy!
- Stylish, clean and well equipped
- Location excellent
Cons -
- Decor in the lounge bar is bland and boring. Needs colour and wallpaper. Also Winander Club dining and breakfast area is too bland and tables are too close to each other. No privacy!
- The cost of everything. Parking should be included. We could have gone abroad for the amount we paid and it realyl didn't meet my expectations (other than the spa) the hotel needs a good refurb, hotel staff not that friendly or helpful and also breakfast even though was decent quality of stuff, long queues and mucky plates lying around on sides made it not feel like we were staying in a luxury resort. Overall was a nice stay however would not rush back at all.

The people in front desk are very helpful and cooperative. The location is very good.
The rooms are dirty. I found a died spider on my bed and a dog ball. They gave us too small rooms, then they changed them in different nights, but to close to each other. The breakfast has very limited dishes and they don’t have live kitchen.
The hotel is beautifully maintained and well managed, staff are very professional and friendly. The breakfast was fantastic. The spa is the best I've ever been to and again beautifully managed and clean. The fact that you can have your drinks brought to you at the pools makes a huge difference because you can really relax then; the "glasses" are actually plastic, but it's quite hard to tell, they are good quality and don't affect the taste of the drink. I will most definitely be returning in the future.
The room was lovely in how it was made up, but I found it quite dark and tucked away at the back of the hotel. I could also hear the people in the neighbouring room using the bathroom, which was a bit frustrating whilst I was trying to sleep, no doubt they felt the same if my husband and I were using ours. I would have thought there would be better insulation between the rooms.
The location and service was excellent!7
The food was overpriced and disappointing!
Friendly, professional, attentive and helpful staff, well done. Great location and facilities. Comfortable beds. Nice decor and interiors.
No slippers, no net curtains, no fresh fruit, there was always something that was omitted, which was a real pity. Net curtains - we either had the curtains open and everything was exposed to the outside world (there was a path right by our window), or the curtains were shut and the room was in the dark - why no net curtains to provide an in-between? Also, was not happy with the limited access to spa for kids. Altogether overpriced.
Comfortable bed, views, room setup, little yummy additions, much needed bath at the front of the bed (we had just got back from climbing scarfel pike), Prosecco on arrival was an added touch but I would have loved a coffee machine on the room and a proper coffee behind the bar or cafe. Bit frustrated. Other that, all great.
Lack of real quality coffee
Room very clean.Breakfast food is good and fresh. All Staff are very friendly and helpful.View is excellent.
Dinner at Blue Smoke.Fish and steak are over done.Soup is too sour even it’s Thai style.
Having been to Low Wood Bay previously for a wedding, my partner and I booked it based on our experience having visited.
Being in room 509, which was signed as being a “Quiet Zone” expected it to be quiet. It was anything but that. Lots of shouting, what sounded like fighting in the halls or nearby rooms, banging of doors and even woke up abruptly by a very loud barking dog in a room adjacent to us.
Nice hotel with great staff and great location. The infinity pool (once we finally got in) was great. Best thing about the place. Great gym facilities
Was surprised hotel guests don't get free or priority access to the outdoor infinity pool area. We had to wait until the morning and pay 50 quid for 2 people to access for 2 hours. If I had known that I'd have booked another place and done a spa day if I'm honest. No slippers provided and our bed was a double twin pushed together into a double, when I'd requested a double. Breakfast was alright if you wanted full English however the continental was basic. Altogether nice hotel but I've had better experiences at cheaper places.
Everything is excellent. The food, service and especially the spa and views. Great trip we will be booking it again.
Lovely aspect of old and new Staff very pleasant
Just on arrival to the room we found some underwear that had been left.( staff sorted it out?? and were very good) Apart from that it was absolutely amazing
Perfect location, clean, great breakfast, amazing spa facilities, friendly staff
All of the staff, the views, the food.it is always good!
The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was really good. We really enjoyed the indoor pool and jacuzzi, it was nice to be able to order drinks around it.
Personally I thought it was unfair that residents didn’t get to use the outdoor spa facilities. We also didn’t get told that the parking was £12 for 1 night which I think is a lot of money when you have just paid £220 for the room.
The spa is beautiful as was breakfast and the room it was served in
The hotel rooms are very average and slightly dated. As we were checking in there were multiple trays of food and used glasses lining the corridors and on the floor outside of rooms.I found it poor service that a spa hotel provides neither slipper or flip flops to their guests (but you can buy them for £10!) The TV in our room was broken and when I informed staff of this they didn’t offer to waive any of the charges - I would of expected them to at least say you don’t have to pay the additional £10 parking charge! I asked staff in the morning if I could have a Quick Look at the view from the outdoor spa since it was dark when we had arrived - this basic request was declined
Very modern & stylish
The room was over priced as it wasn’t very spacious for price we paid
The Hotel is a very short drive (hour walk) from the pubs and restaurants in Bowness but is located right on the lake and has excellent views. It was clean and well presented with a decent gym and excellent outdoor spa facility.
1. Use of the Spa facility is not included in the price and comes at £65 per person extra which is an unexpected major expense. This should be included in the price when you book the hotel. Very disappointing.2. Parking in the hotel is not included in the price when you book the hotel and is an additional £12 per day. Ridiculous. 3. Even if you pay the extra £65 per person to access the Spa you are still only granted a small 3 hour slot in the evening or morning. I expected it to be for the entire day. TBH it should be for the entirety of the stay imo. 4. The hotel restaurant was only available for one 20:45 sitting in our three day stay. This is quite late to dine and very inconvenient. 5. The hotel is in a mobile signal black spot and their internet WiFi was down intermittently which is a major problem for those who need to communicate for work or personal reasons (or people who wish to stream football like I had planned).
