Pros +
- Everything and everyone, a most enjoyable stay.
- A good choice for Builth Wells but not too many options. Room was nice, comfortable, clean, good bicycle storage in a storage room, very nice hosts, tub, very good Thai food for dinner.
- Very friendly staff, and an easy check in. The evening dinner was exceptional, and highly recommended. The room was a little small, but given the age of the building, nothing to complain about. For anyone touring, bikes / cars etc., it is a good stop off point, conveniently located close to two petrol stations.
Cons -
- It’s shabby, an older property that could use some refurbishment, but I get it’s hard in these rural places.
- Nothing to add.
- Room was very small, two people couldn't pass by each other.Shower didn't work properly, it was impossible to stand under it.Shower room had a tiny sink that was too small to clean teeth over it.The shower room was about the size of a single toilet, it was impossible to dry yourself with the towel in there, so we had to do that back in the bedroom.Needless to say that we won't be going there again.

breakfast was goodlocation was good
waited 1 1/2 hours for main course at dinner , despite fact that there were only 2 other people there.
Lovely country pub with friendly welcoming hosts. Nice and clean with a fantastic breakfast. Would stay again.
No lift but that was due to the age of the Inn so we had a hike to bring our bags in, our room was slightly small but was manageable for one night.
Excellent food, lovely staff and very clean.
Bed although comfortable, was a little small for a double.
Staff very nice and friendly. Food excellent. Location good for the showground. Good parking
The location was ideal for mid Wales close to Elan Valley The hotel was an old railway hotel so was a 5 to 10 mns walk to town centre depending on age. The breakfast was excellent one of the best I’ve had. The hosts and staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was very clean and the bathroom had all the toiletries you could need.
Full Welsh Breakfast, perfect
Delivery of evening meal could have been quicker, but only one chef on, we had to wait an hour and a half for our meal, as only one chef in kitchen, however, it was delicious when it was eventually served.
Immaculately clean room with quality towels and everything you would need. Food (especially the Thai food ) was lovely. If you’re travelling by motorcycle then this place is perfect. Ignore the other unfortunate review and find out for yourself. At the price, what more can you want..?
Clean room above pub. Great location, just across Wye river from town centre. Quiet room, very friendly staff
A really welcoming place, super accommodating, & helpful after I booked last minute while on a bicycle tour. Bed was comfy, room cosy & breakfast really generous!
Nice old build but unlike a lot I have been in was actually quiet warm The hosts were really friendly too
The whole experience of the pub was superb from the moment we entered the door until we left. The lady behind the bar was lovely and made our stay really welcoming. The Thai food was exceptional. The breakfast was superb, can't rate it enough. if your lucky to meet Milo the choc lab he is a big cutie. thank you all for a lovely one night stay. WE WILL BE BACK
Very friendly traditional pub/hotel. Staff were so welcoming and friendly and you felt very looked after. Lovely old building hence low beams and stairs but value for money. Lovely Breakfast and I enjoyed a meal in the evening too.
If you want something more fancy then pay more to stay somewhere else but it won't be more welcoming.
The staff and owners were so welcoming and friendly, nothing was to much trouble beautiful little place and spotless also the food was delicious
Friendly welcome, excellent accomodation, fantastic breakfast, 10/10
Good breakfast and dinner. Plates hot. Lovely toiletries. Great bath. Good loo paper!!!! Comfy bed.
The dinner - lamb chops - was excellent. The room was spotlessly clean and well provisioned. The staff were very welcoming and helpful.
