Pros +
- Every staff member we encountered was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The hotel is within an easy walk of the town centre which made it easy to walk around without bothering about parking.
- Excellent helpful staffComfortable room with nice walk in showerExcellent evening mealGood breakfast
- Staff, friendly and efficient without exception. Good location 10 minutes walk from Ludlow town center. Breakfast menu excellent. Evening meal good, but limited choice of menu for those dining often. Good attention to dietary requirements.
Cons -
- Tiny bottles of shampoo and shower gel, barely enough for two.
- Wi-fi was not reliable. The lounge area is limited and tricky to accommodate larger groups.
- The room heaters did not work and we had a couple of chilly nights while we were there. Also, the upper part of the towel rack dryer in the bathroom did not work and they seemed unable to fix it.

Beautiful location, close enough to Ludlow to walk into town easily, but not so close that we were in the hubbub of town. The room was nice. The room heaters did not work and the towel rack dryer in the bathroom only heated the bottom rungs but did not heat the entire rack, which was a problem. It was nice to be just a little ways out in the country but close enough to town to have good access.

Very clean and welcoming
No lift which was a problem having just from illness Also sad to see in this day and age a bath only option available
We had a big comfortable room and shower. A nice view outside the window.
This is probably the first disappointed review I've written on Booking.com, as my experience has always been positive at the properties I've stayed in. As someone visiting Ludlow for the first time, I find the description a bit misleading. I wanted a hotel closer to the town centre, but this wasn't it. The setting is pretty, I agree, but as a city person from central London who is quite astute about choosing convenient places to stay, I found this to be a miss, being far from the town centre. As I went upstairs to our room, I noticed a strong smell of cooked food, likely due to the kitchen vent being nearby. This was particularly noticeable in the mornings. Breakfast was disappointing; the sausage was negligible, far too thin, and the mushrooms and fruit were tinned. The selection of teas was limited. We stayed during the summer, and it was very hot; luckily, a fan was available. The wifi was terrible; the hotel needs to invest in reliable guest wifi. The decor needs an upgrade. The staff were lovely; I have no complaints about them, but they are not responsible for how the hotel is run. I will revisit Ludlow next year, but I won't be booking here. I'm surprised it has AA rosettes. I should also mention that there was no access for disabled or older guests who might not be able to manage the steep stairs (no lift). Overall, it didn't meet my expectations, and I acknowledge that I focused more on the photos and general descriptions rather than reading all the details carefully. Lesson learned!
Good room, good food
No garden
Great location friendly staff
Rooms a little small and dated for the price per night
Excellent location. Good breakfast.
Mattress a bit firm. Lack of air con .
Lovely traditional hotel on the edge of Ludlow with the town centre about 10 minutes walk away.Food was very goodEasy to find and large car park Nice room Ludlow is well worth a full day visitMet all my needs.
Nothing negative to report.
The location excellentCheck in and check out easyEvening meal and breakfast really good The staff were friendly and excellent
We stayed in the cottage and thought the room itself was really quite small but ok for just a nights stay, the bathroom was big and the shower is powerful. The room was clean just a few cobwebs around the wall to ceiling over the bed
Excellent vegan breakfast but could have been delivered with a smile or two. Made to feel a little uncomfortable when asking for toast and hot drinks .
Staff could have been friendlier. Bar was shut very early.
Clean and tidy. Pleasant staff
The breakfast wasn't as good as some we've had. Smoked haddock and scrambled egg, not very nice. Restaurant meal expensive for what we had.
Very enjoyable breakfast with good menu choices/
Our room was very pleasant but was a little small when accommodating our dogs and their bed. However we have stayed previously in another room which was perfect
There was parlking. Enjoyed a bath in the room. Staff friendly.
Too far out of town to walk in alone at night. I had a lovely room with views but it could have been made much prettier and cosier with better decor. I found struggling up to the 2nd floor with a case difficult. I had to eat in and thought they tried too hard with the food! Some plain bar meals eould have been better.
Good location close enough to Ludlow to walk but pleasant views of farmland. The food is excellent and the service friendly. Very comfortable bedding.
The breakfast was very good and there was a good varied choice. All the staff were helpful and friendly I would highly recommend this hotel. The original pictures on the walls were delightful too - I must say not many hotels have originals on the walls so it was really nice to see and I enjoyed looking at them. The hotel was a short walk to the town so was very convenient.
The heating wasn’t on in my room I feel it should have been because it was a bit chilly!
The staff, the food and the pleasant surroundings
Food, rooms and staff were very good.
Clean. Friendly. Comfortable. Great food. Beautiful rural location by the river - just out of town (but still quick and easy to reach Ludlow on foot)
Was in accommodation described as a self contained bungalow - actually it shared a corridor with another room. And when the people in the other room left at 6am, it woke me up (the doors on the shared access area were incredibly noisy and I could hear everything in the interconnecting corridor).
