Cons -
- Our room was a little tired, with some broken fittings, otherwise it was very comfortable. Parking can be problematic for disabled people.
- Would not recommend room 4 if you are a light sleeper. Could hear staff talking in the bar until gone 1:30am. Also impossible for a man to have a shave as the mirror is extremely low. The shower is very small!

Breakfast was good well cooked. Good coffee. Dining room cold
We were not told our room was in the old part of the Hotel Ceilings low as was the old beans my husband is 6’1 found it very difficult not to bang his head. The Hotel is not suitable for disabled in the old part of the hotel.
Incredibly friendly and helpful staff.Brilliant location.Food is great for breakfast and in the bar.
Beds a little hard but didn’t bother us, also bathroom needed a little updating.
The room was quiet and comfortable with a comfortable bed.All the staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. The food was superb (especially the chocolate and orange panettone pudding!). We ate in the restaurant on the first evening which is a historically interesting room, with beautiful original 16th century panelling; on the second evening in the friendly and lively bar (same menu in both). Good choice of hot food at breakfast plus a small buffet with fresh fruit, yoghurt and cereal.
I was given a double room on booking in (having previously booked a twin) at no extra charge. The staff are all very welcoming, friendly and helpful. I had dinner in the bar with friends, and the food was good. Breakfast was also good, I only had cereal and toast so didn't sample the cooked breakfast but there was plenty of choice and the service was excellent.
There were a couple of things I was less impressed with, the heating in the room was an electric wall heater, which, although I put it on a manual setting went off after a while and frankly didn't emit a lot of heat. There were a couple of bulbs out in the wall lights, and in the bathroom, the sealing strip between the floor covering and the wall had come away and was rather dusty.
Lovely wood timbered character building right in the town. Dinner was amazing in the oak panelled restaurant and the staff so welcoming. The bar area had a lovely atmosphere and full of charm. Our evening meal was all homemade with fresh vegetables and was delicious!
Our room was a standard room in the old part of the Inn, so was quite basic.
Breakfast was good but no yoghurts that didn't have sweetner and no croissants on offer. Liked the location. Friendly, helpful staff. Extremely clean rooms with lovely comfy beds. I have to say once the noise died down from below I slept like a log and slept right through the night which I never do so thank you.
Rooms not near to eachother as requested.Room 10 heater appeared to be malfunctioning. On booking in the room wasn't very warm. Also bed hadn't been split as requested and a camp bed had been put up which wasn't suitable for my tall 16 year old granddaughter.Following my complaint I was inforned it would be 'sorted'. On return to the room later that evening the bed had been split but the room was now overly hot. The heater temperature was immediately turned down but remained extremely hot 23°c all night so their sleep wasn't good as they were too hot. I just think the heater needs looking at. Rooms 4 & 6 were excellent although door number needs painting on door as we couldn't find it and wasn't shown to rooms 4 and 6. He did show my daughte and granddaughter how to get to room 10 as Tom, the Manager, said it was outside in a different block.
The staff are amazing, specially the guy who checked us in,sorry didn’t catch his name, bar was great, everyone really friendly
Not a dislike as such, but our room could do with a refresh of paint
Breakfast was exceptionally good and staff catered for my and my wife's needs
The duvet was rather warm/heavy for spring/ summer use as the evening was mild
Very good, central location, parking nearby. Excellent breakfast. Staff were generally lovely and the live singer and DJ on NYE were very good.
Room was comfy but a bit tired and the shower room needs some TLC.On NYE, we went down to the bar just after 7pm, looking forward to the entertainment we'd seen advertised on posters and fliers. All the tables seemed to be reserved but a member of staff, seeing me with a walking stick, seated us a table near the bar. At 9pm, however. the Acting Manager tried to shift us out of the bar where the entertainment was into the cold dining room because he'd reserved the table they'd put us on for his mother and her partner. I felt this was unacceptable as we were residents and had previously received a telephone call to say they could not honour the dinner reservation we'd made as the kitchen would be closed. I was told that we could avail ourselves of a buffet at a small charge and I said that that would be fine but we were not told we needed to book a table. He didn't even approach me himself but sent a young barmaid to ask us to move. I refused as the dining room was very cold and away from the entertainment. We ended up sharing the table with his mother, who was obviously miffed, although her partner was more sociable. This experience was upsetting and spoilt an otherwise enjoyable stay. I don't think management should be favouring family over paying guests, it's not professional.
Really good location, right at the top end of town so you could walk the town up and down and absorb Ledbury. Hotel/pub was old world, so full of character. Bedroom 14 was big, walk, relaxing and quiet. The mattress had a join in the middle, but we slept well. We would definitely stay again
The mattress had a join in the middle where they were pushed together, but we slept good anyway. Most hotels do this, so nothing unusual.
The room was very spacious with solid furniture and a bigger than average bedBreakfast was cooked to order and done wellStaff were friendly and knowledgeable
Excellent location, well appointed room & bathroom. Breakfast menu was varied, freshly cooked and tasty.
The hotel was very convenient for exploring the lovely town of Ledbury. The staff were all very chatty, welcoming, and helpful. Our room had a huge bed and was extremely comfortable. Although they didn't serve food on Sunday evening, we were given recommendations for restaurants and takeaways and even encouraged to bring back food and eat in the bar if we wished. In the end we took up the recommendation of a local Italian restaurant which was very good.We would definitely like to visit again.
Nothing at all.
Welcoming and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast.
Minor things - some repainting required in the bathroom; pillows too firm. Water pressure from sink taps not great. The need to boil the tap water to make hot drinks in the room as non-potable.
Lovely old building - good sized rooms
Lots of steps
Ledbury is a lovely town and we stay there when we are working at The Three Counties Showground as not too far to travel. We have stayed a couple of times and it has always been very comfortable. We ate in the restaurant on our last occasion and have to say the fish and chips were The Best! Compliments to the chef which I think is the manager of the hotel, Helen who is always very bubbly and attentive. There is also a good selection for breakfast, including vegetarian options & proper coffee!Great that it is dog friendly too. There is no parking at the hotel but we have never had an issue parking. There is a car park over the road and cost about £5 for overnight parking.
My only slight negative was in the bathroom and the fact the shower curtain wasn't long enough to go inside the bath rendering it pretty useless. There were also holes in the walls where fittings had come away which made it look a bit shabby. That aside it was clean and a good selection of lotions and potions provided.
The staff are amazing, so helpful and accommodating. Northing is too much. I will be back here again soon. I cannot recommend enough...The hotel is beatiful with a cosy historic feel, the dining room even has its own bullet!!There are always lovely flower arrangements and it is so central to accessing everything in the town.
The only shame is that it doesn't have parking, but you can't have everything and street parking plentiful.
