The staff were amazing and friendly.

Minor note about cob webs in the corner of the room but when asked to resolve it the staff were very helpful and on my return to the room it was all gone.

A stop over but what a treat! Loved the comfort and ambience of the hotel and our brilliant room. A warm and spacious room and the choice of a shower or bath! Enjoyed a long bath followed by a great night in a huge and comfortable bed! No rush next morning as we didn’t have to vacant the room until 11.00am . Little things but things which make a difference. Loved our stay and look forward to our next visit.

Ate in the restaurant. The staff were great but we were disappointed with the rump steak. Great flavour but the majority of the steak was sinuous and tough!We were offered a free desert to compensate.The room and bed was so very comfortable but the noise from the bar below seemed to permeate upwards during the evening. Quieted down later and we slept well.

The staff are very good and accommodating. The whole place is clean and decorated to a high standard.

Music playing until late, paper thin walls, fire exit light in room(?) lighting up the whole space at night, bath tao running constantly

Stayed here for 2 nights. Was really surprised at how lovely it was. Room was stunning, staff so friendly and helpful. Breakfast next day was lovely. Location was great. Would definitely recommend and would stay again

Lovely location especially for the town centre. Plenty of parking nearby. Lovely atmosphere with real 'character' rooms, warm and cosy. Very friendly welcome.

The room was a bit noisy as it is above the bar, which is, I suppose, to be expected, but it did sound like we were in the bar at times. The room seemed a little over priced. There was a lack of caffeinated coffee

Lovely large well decorated and comfortable room! Very charming due to the age, decorated respectfully due to age of site! Excellent bed size, further attention to bathroom area but overall really pleasant!Staff were really helpful and pleasant.Great central location, we didn’t eat at site on this occasion but we have down previously but the meals did look wonderful!

Obviously because of the age of the property the floors were a little uneven. The hot water took a while to reach temperature but was very hot

Lovely big comfortable bed, very spacious room and clean bathroom. Convenient town centre location. Didn't drive so cannot comment on parking arrangements. Check in staff were lovely and informative.

Quite noisy below from the bar. No breakfast but there is a lovely cafe next-door but doesn't open until 9am.

The fire alarm went off at 2am ( a false alarm ). Our room had beams and a low ceiling , plus an uneven floor, all part of age and character of the building, but which during the night was disconcerting.

Would have appreciated wider choice on menu - and of course : Daily Breakfast! (though they did they offer this at weekends! We breakfasted at a small cafe close to the hotel - it was very smart, well-staffed, and were open from quite early in the morning! Very popular with their customers, they offered a wide menu and we particularly enjoyed their delicious breakfasts!
