Room was great, staff were great, even at 2am when I arrived!
The shower in my bathroom was very poor.
The room itself was fine. The dinner on Friday evening was fine.
I was in the annex and was surprised to find it was so far from the main lodge. Also, they several staircases to get to the room where a surprise. Both situations are awkward for someone carrying their luggage. You should make it clear in the booking that the annex has this situation in case the traveller is not able to cope. Also, when I checked in on Thursday, I was told there was no dining room that night, but there would be on Friday.
Free upgrade to the 4 poster room was great. The lady at reception couldn't do enough for our group.Excellent breakfast.
Only staying for one night
Very old and interesting building. Comfortable beds.Excellent friendly staff.
The room was lovely & cosy
The heating didn’t come on till about an hour after we arrived so it was really cold but once the heating came on it was lovely
Great location, staff friendly and professional.
The hotel is tired, it needs some TLC, paint work needs refreshing and a lot of cob webs dusting / cleaning.
Room was great and easy distance to town and local attractions.
Duvet was a bit warm
Nothing was good to be honest.
Really aged decour with mould in the bathroom.Ridiculously soft mattressNoisy room backing onto the kitchen and fansLarge bin movement at 06:40No food options @ 4pm
Beautiful surroundings , short walk to shops etc . Very friendly and helpful staff,
Beautiful place that had everything we needed and very close to shops. The staff was wonderful and welcoming and we was given a free upgrade. Me and my little boy was spending a day at flamingo land so we hopped on the bus that comes straight outside the hotel for £4 both ways. The location itself is fabulous and the gardens are beautiful I just wish we had stayed longer than 2 nights.
our room was directly above the entrance so people used this area to smoke and because it was so warm we had the window open all the time so we had cigarette smoke blowing in which was unpleasant.
The bed was uncomfortable spring's in my back also cold draught from under the bedroom door and the sink was blocked
The grounds were beautiful, as was the bar and the restaurant. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating - couldn't have asked for better.
The rooms were a tad tired and the plumbing was very loud. Lots of clanging and banging throughout the night.
Rooms are large and airy .Great shower. Clean and tidy. Nice linen. Amazing, friendly, helpful, lovely staff. Warm and cosy. Lovely tea tray and biscuits. Food is fabulous in the dining room. Good choice of drinks and wine.
Beds are creaky and squeaky, not for a restful sleep. Rooms are in need of a wee bit of tlc that you get from old buildings, damp patches, peeling wallpaper, showers need updating. Not enough sockets for lights etc so extension cables, which isnt ideal.
Very nice place , very quiet and cozy. Room was great large and in keeping with the building. Had every thing I needed and a lovely view.
We were originally upgraded to a much nicer room, which was a welcome surprise as the bed was huge. Sadly, there was an issue with the plumbing, and we had to be moved back to a standard room. I can't fault the service though, as if we hadn't known about the big bed we would have been happy enough.
Room cold heating not fully working air lock in pipes knocking needs plumbing bleeding. No phone to call reception.Had to close sutters to stop draft from windows.
We had been booked into the hotel's annexe, which is some distance along the street. On arrival, we were given the key to Room 19 in the main building - a definite upgrade in our opinion.
The price of Breakfast.
