Pros +
- Friendly staff and very good location
- Beautiful location, quiet, easy to check in
- THE HUGE CAR PARK. THE VIEW OF THE CHURCH. THE ROOM AND THE FACILITIES INSIDE. TEA, COFFEE AND BISCUITS. THE COFFEE LOUNG AND DINING AREA. THE CHOICES FOR CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST. THE FACT IT WAS CLOSE TO THE CHURCH AND CHURCH HALL.
Cons -
- It was very cold even with the heating on the rooms were really cold and limited hot water. The rooms also smelled musty like they hadn't been aired out.
- A CONCERN FOR THE FISH IN THE POND AS THE WEATHER WAS SNOWY AND ICY.
- Only a small niggle as everything else was great but the shower in room 1 is very weak - barely more than a trickle.

We spent four nights at the Lamphey Hall and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was large, clean and comfortable and I especially liked the lounge area which had a machine serving coffee, hot chocolate and a large selection of teas and you could help yourself 24 hours a day. The room had Sky TV which would have been a bonus (as the darts world championship was on :)) but there was no remote for it! The hotel is unstaffed so you just come and go using a key code for the front door. There is no catering but the Dial pub just down the road does excellent food and Lamphey Hall has a connection to the Lydstep Tavern, a 10-minute drive away, and offer free starter and desert if you eat there. We were visiting family and will definitely choose Lamphey Hall again for our next stay.

Met all our expectations, clean, comfortable and perfect location. A little weird not seeing any staff but worked well
Steps from the car park were a bit dark.
Nothing really as we as there was no reception to check in with despite what this place advertises
Reception staff only handwritten contact telephone numbers to ring if you need help when you ring goes to an answer phone leave a message Very unsatisfactory run establishment not worth the money we paid We would not stay in this place had to cancel and i reject being told we did not show when we asked for a refund that was a lie how did know all this if we didn't turn up for the booking. Be very careful when booking this place they are very clever when having to give a refund and the customer service is absolutely rubbish .
Heat in room and water perfect. Coffee lounge and provisions. Lovely building interesting. Great parking. Nice communication with clear instructions. Able to move around house to different area. Great location.Nice towels and bedding bed comfy. Good having sky. Neat and tidy house good furniture.
I arrived when it was dark and needed more light outside when walking down steps I needed to park at that side due to my mobility front was lit ok. I like to be able to open window but understand with these older buildings they have windows that cant always be open. I could smell tobacco smoke .I think from next room. Different level of floor in bathroom as I have dodgy hip.and scared of tripping. There was a fly 8n my room that was buzzing about and wouldn't go. Shower mat colour a bit off putting . Portrait on stairs creepy.
Very helpful. Although we had to skip breakfast our host let us take some snacks with us. Lots of choice on the tv as well.
I found the door lock difficult to open. It may have been due to arthritic fingers.
Spacious room
Really cold. Breakfast wasnt great.
Relaxed atmosphere, lounge area was very pleasant to have and had good WiFi signal in the lounge as was advertised in the hotel description. Live TV through Sky in the hotel room. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good base location to visit lots of places nearby.
The WiFi was a bit limited in the bedroom so couldn’t always stream through the TV (iplayer/netflix etc) but WiFi for the bedrooms wasn't in the description anyway
-Comfy bed
-check-in with no human - is this preparation for AI getting rid of humans in such establishments?!!!! Whilst we were ok with key code entry to get into the hotel, we then had to ring a supplied tel no to get a key code to open a key box for room key. We were tired after a long journey and this was irksome. I think this needs to be explicitly set out in online booking for people to make an informed decision- Toilet was in the bathroom/sink was in the bedroom. When toilet was used/flushed in the early hours, a loud gurgling sound was emitted from the sink, disturbing my partner- hallway smelled of damp - room smelled of bleach: I do not use harsh chemicals in my own home - room became unbearably warm in night - had to get up & open window
The room - large and comfortable
When we arrived in the pouring rain we had to phone through to a oub a few miles away to get a code for access to get in. There were no staff in the hotel in the evening. In previous years we have had a marvellous meal in the hotel. As it was our 49th wedding anniversary and we were in the area that is why we booked to stay there. There was now no restaurant in the hotel, despite the web-site. We were advised to book a table at a pub a few miles away. When we saw the menu we saw run of the mill pub grub - nothing special - so we booked at another restaurant we knew from when we used to live in the area. There was no cooked breakfast in the morning - just continental.
Friendly and accommodating and clean
Nothing negative to say
Clean and comfortable, friendly staff. Lamphey is more of an up market hostel than a traditional hotel, with no staff on site, bar or bistro and only light continental breakfast which is fine if that's what you're looking for. A self-catering kitchen would be good for those who want more than a bowl of cereal or don't fancy a pub meal.
Marketing should make it clear how the "hotel" operates, including the offer on eating at the Lydstep Tavern a short drive away, that we only discovered after booking somewhere else.
Room was very nice bed was comfortable but a bit creaky (prob needed bolts tightening underneath). Bathroom was wonderful, and TV service was good too. WIFI flawless....
Breakfast very basic but adequate. Not full English.
The room was clean but no heating on and we were cold
Advertising a restaurant which wasn't there. False advertising!! Told we could drive 10 minutes to the sister hotel but after 6 hours on the road already it was not an option. Room was cold. No heating on. After phone call was offered a gas heater but we were concerned about carbon monoxide
Continental breakfast was ideal as was a "help yourselves"
very little not to like - may the shower handle could have been a tad cleaner
Misleading & Unsafe – This...
We booked this property for a Thursday night after seeing it advertised as a hotel with reception staff, a bar, a restaurant, and all the facilities you would expect. The reviews and listing made it sound like a proper hotel stay. What we actually arrived to was nothing like that. The building was completely unstaffed, no reception, no bar, no restaurant, no one around at all. The only way in was through a key box, turning what was supposed to be a hotel into more of a hostel-style setup. Several other people outside were also shocked, trying to figure out why the bar and restaurant weren’t open after being misled by the same listing. After travelling a long way to stay here, we were left with no choice but to find somewhere else at short notice. The property simply wasn’t what was being sold to us, and we felt unsafe, as the front door could easily have been left open and the property would have been accessible to anyone. Having no staff presence or security in the building puts guests at risk, and it’s wrong for Booking.com to allow this type of misrepresentation. We contacted someone by phone (N), who admitted the situation and agreed to issue a refund. That refund has not been received, and now the property is refusing to take responsibility and has pushed the matter away. This was a deeply disappointing and misleading experience. Guests deserve honesty and safety, not to be sold on facilities that don’t exist. I hope future travellers read this before booking, because this is not a hotel.
Comfortable room and bed. Facilities were good. Shower worked well
