    Pros +

    • Decent room and facilities, customer service and staff were excellent and the additional breakfast was of great value.
    • Staff were friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. I asked to leave my case at reception after checking out, my train home was cancelled due to work on railway lines and I had to wait 6 hours for my son to pick me up after work. They kept my case and other bags for all that time and let me use the lounge to thaw out after venturing into Tenby periodically throughout the day. Thank you so much Clarence Hotel. ?
    • Stayed for the Tenby Blues festival. Staff were welcoming and changed our room to a sea view with no trouble and no extra cost. Facilities were good however the only toilet on the ground floor (bar area) was out of order when busy, you had to go up to the first floor. Entertainment was great and food reasonable and good. Breakfast was substantial with a choice on the full English.

    Cons -

    • The walls in the rooms are unfortunately quite thin, and sound travels quite easily. I was woken up at 6:30am by a man loudly coughing and watching tv in the room next door - it sounded like he was in the same room. This was unfortunate, but didn't ruin my experience.
    • When I booked online it stated that the dinning room was closed so I couldn't book any meals. When I arrived the dining room was open. Some misinformation there.
    • The bathroom was very cramped (room 107). I think I might have been on aircraft that have bigger bathrooms!

Convenient for music venues in the centre of the town (for the Tenby Blues Festival). Good value for the price.

The bathroom was very cramped (room 107). I think I might have been on aircraft that have bigger bathrooms!

Ideal location, breakfast was lovely. Beds very comfortable. Would definitely pay a bit more for a better view next time!

    Nothing really, suited us well.

Excellent parking just outside. Great location. Clean and comfortable

Disabled walk in bathroom didn't have any handrails etc

    5RiazPosted on: 8-23-2025

It is on the beach, but on the other side of the road from the beach

We didn’t get the room we paid for. The staff seemed helpful but sneaky!

For the price I thought it was a lovely hotel. Amazing location. Really clean and had a window you could open which was a definite plus as it was very hot weather. The staff were lovely. Really considerate. The only thing that I felt let it down a bit was the breakfast but overall, for the price and that it was only 2 star, I thought it was excellent

Breakfast, but I can tolerate that for the price and that we had a nice room. And wonderful staff

Location was right opposite the ocean however our room was not a seaview room. Street Parking available opposite the hotel but check for restrictions. We only slept there with no other inclusions, however there is a bar and restuarant available..room was clean, bed comfortable and bathroom facilities adequate.

The location was perfect. The service from the staff members was excellent. They couldn’t have been more helpful, even to assisting with finding a parking place. As I had a work meeting early in the morning, the member of staff who served me breakfast made every effort to ensure a speedy getaway. Staff on reception were also very helpful to the friend who was waiting for me.

The room my friend and I shared was quite small. The wash hand basin was in the bedroom not the shower room.

Location is fantastic! Has an outdoor seaside area that serves drinks. Also a nice garden area and bar. Has a lift, pleasant staff

We were supposed to have a sea view but the room had a small window up so high that we couldn’t see out of! Also tiny bathroom had to step up to get in. the shower was very small sink had old faucets and

Amazing location right by the beach breakfast was lovely Shirley was so welcoming towards me would definitely return hotel bed was extremely comfortable nice bar inside

    The view

It was FILTHY to the point I had several asthma attacks, they apologized and sent some one to clean it ... It still wasn't clean. Sink was broken, spent time waiting in for it to be fixed both days. Bathtub was so dirty I had to clean it myself, also was a public bathroom not as advertised. So filthy really would not recommend. Asked for refund for 40 quid off and filled in a form for the rest but no one has contacted us to date. Was also the size of a cupboard not a room TBF. Hotel rooms should not be so dusty it's hazardous to health. Vile

    Well maintained and great location.

Walls are a bit thin, so noise may be an issue. Shower was not hot.

    8BradleyPosted on: 5-7-2025

Great location. Easy walk to everything.

This is an older hotel. Don’t expect anything modern.

    8DaviesPosted on: 4-30-2025

I love the hotel's position. Tenby is fabulous. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Lovely outdoor view on cliff top overlooking the sea

Now it doesn't overly bother me but very limited parking, and communal areas bit tired

    6DamienPosted on: 4-30-2025

It's a pleasant enough hotel in a lovely part of Tenby. It is an older building but that's acknowledged and reflected in the price. Breakfast was very good. Service was very good. The porters were very good and very polite.

    10WilliamsPosted on: 4-30-2025

Seafront balcony. Twin beds mattresses with different comfort levels. Going to sleep to the sound of waves and Sea Gulls is a must have for Tenby.Large food potions. Cliff top bar.Quiet room. Really friendly staff. I like the spererate bathroom and toilet on the same floor.

I will be visiting again so I cannot comment for now.

    9GemmaPosted on: 4-30-2025

Staff were so friendly and very helpful. Our reservation included breakfast but due to how the booking.com bookings show on their system it hadn’t pulled the breakfast through however they were extremely accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts were delicious and the Clift side bar has exceptional views where you can relax and watch the world go by. The location is excellent and we had a room with a balcony, it would have been nice to have some chairs to use on the balcony however we didn’t spend much time in the room and used the bar area across the road.

Rooms are a bit dated but they were clean and functional. Which is all you need.
