Pros +
- Excellent location at the entrance to the city from the west. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was very good and we had one evening meal which was also good with free bottle of wine.
- Staff in general were fine, friendly and cheerful. Food was good, but had tried to upgrade hotel with Haut Cuisine catering. Room was a bit small, but at least had a decent wardrobe. Lack of chest of drawers brought it down to Premier Inn/ Travel lodge.
- Atttractive old building, good location, very friendly and helpful lady at the desk, room was quiet and comfortable
Cons -
- Booked a suite so expected 10/10. It was generally good but the bathroom and some of the nooks and crannies of the room could have done with a deep clean. The heating was not sufficient for the room size and the bathroom.
- Lack of space to finish above. No real complaints, just usual things that spoil what could be a good 3-star hotel. Would most probably try somewhere else to compare if we were evere in the area again.
- Breakfast wasn't great- instant coffee, no yogurt, no fruit salad; Lots of tacky advertising signs everywhere

Staff very friendly and the relaxed atmosphere was welcome. Room was airy with a pleasant outlook. Location opposite the tourist information centre and stops for coastal walk shuttle buses and the T11 bus to / from Haverfordwest train / bus stations hard to beat. Quiet as located a short distance away from the main township area with its day-tripper and (I assume) some nighttime factors. Did not notice any noise from hotel's bar / restaurant. Did not sample the breakfast offered as the 8:30am start did not suit my planned activities.
Staff very friendly and helpful ? Free Parking Clean room / comfortable beds.
Nothing, it provided a practical good night's stay, not the Ritz but clean and comfortable.
The location of The Grove is perfect for visiting St David's. The staff were very friendly. It has a lovely garden and parking. The room was a good size with a comfortable bed.
Unfortunately our room, #10 was a bit dirty, the floor didn't appear to have been hoovered and there were lots of cobwebs by the radiators and light shades. The bathroom door didn't have a lock and so the doors kept on opening if the bathroom windows were open. There are a few small things that could be done to make the review a lot better
Breakfast, shower, quiet room, friendly.

The location
It’s incredibly noisy - sounded like a party was going on in the bar and a tree full of crows just outside the window kept us up most of the night: it didn’t feel very clean and overall the place just feels very tired
Happy with room, lounge and restaurant area. Staff friendly and approachable
Breakfast poor quality. Coffee was awful - instant coffee and water from urn was lukewarm. Had to ask for another hot cup which still wasn’t great. Poached eggs over cooked and served on unbuttered toast. Improving the quality of the breakfast would make a big difference
Staff friendly and helpful . Location fantastic.
Looks a little tired.
The building was lovely and the inside had potential but needed a lick of paint everywhere upstairs and in the bedrooms. Staff were friendly until we checked out and weren’t asked if everything was ok; if they’d have shown some interest I would have told them but as they didn’t care, feedback would have fallen on deaf ears.
Needed TLC generally as downstairs was a mess on one evening and the room needed a deep clean. Black mould on the ceilings, green mould on the window frames, the bathroom had bits on the floor, we had to ask for a spare loo roll and were given a half used one from somewhere. Asked for more tea bags and milk as what was put out everyday was inconsistent. Cob webs on the ceilings needed attention. Had a drink in the lounge at 6 pm and there was a table full of empty glasses and seats stacked up; came back at 8.30 pm and they still hadn’t been cleared up ( yet staff had time to play on their phones and play pool). One medium glass of red wine was over £10….. £6.80’ish elsewhere, ‘daylight robbery’. Outside the lawn needed mowing, the pits needed sorting and the enormous amount of weeds did nothing for the building. Talked to locals about the Grove and it has a reputation for not being the best accommodation in the area. Shame really, as the building on photos looks inviting! I won’t be going back!
Good location, close to Cathedral and city
Staff inefficient and failed to check me in properly, resulting in being unable to open my room door with key card next day. Room and public rooms very tatty and in need of updating. Shower cubicle leaked water onto floor. Breakfast (continental) poor. "Orange juice" resembled orange squash. Coffee was self-service instant coffee. Bread for toast had just come out of the freezer and did not taste nice. Loud unpleasant piped music at breakfast.
Location, clean linen and towels, breakfast was ok
Rooms were tired - needs updating/decorating, no headboard, and bedside lamps switch located at rear of pillow/mattress - switching on when you moved in bed!, shower drain was blocked
Breakfast was more than enough and could have what we wanted.
Passage ways were a bit out dated and shabby. But spotless so it didn't really matter.
Good shower. Good location.
Toilet in room 10 wasn't flushing properly (took several goes and it was making a gurgling noise). Reported to staff. Room 9 needs a deep clean (cobwebs, dust in corners/ along skirting boards). Cobwebs also in room 10. Furniture in both rooms rather worn. Paintwork needs touching up.
Fantastic room . Great space. Lovely location and friendly staff
No big issues but I personally struggle with foam pillows and would have been the icing on the cake to have a feather pillow and maybe a little more milk for coffee in the room but as I said no big deal as the room was fantastic
As a last minute booking we were really pleased with the location and facilities. We arrived early so couldn't check in, but we were able to leave the car in the car park until later.Cariad was an absolute star, she was so friendly and showed us to our room and explained the after hours arrangements for getting into the accommodation. The room had pretty much everything you'd need for a few nights and was comfortable and a decent size.We ate in the pub and although the table service app didn't seem to be working properly, the meals we ordered were very good. I asked if the chef could find me a good piece of steak which he did.Again, Cariad looked after us and was a credit to her job and the company.
The rooms could do with some modernisation and a bit more attention to cleaning. The bathroom, as with many hotels, could use some more shelves and towel hanging hooks or rails.
Nothing positive to mention. Really a wrong choice is what we made. Room service or cleaning haven’t been there since ages (dirty bathroom!).
Host was grumpy and not interested. It wasn’t a clean environment in general. No fresh coffee at breakfast (instant coffee & hot water). Room (9) felt moistures and humid.
Quick service for food. The room was cleaned when asked. Room quiet. Central location.. Good quality food and good prices
Bed was uncomfortable and the room was too hot. No EV charger and the nearest was in a limited time car park where I had to also pay parking charges
Great locationLovely foodFriendly, helpful staffComfy room
Door handle on bathroom door kept coming off.
