Pros +

  • Nice room. Good size and private. Great food and good service
  • Bed was comfortable. The room was reasonably clean. Fresh coffee maker in the rom
  • I thought it was really excellent value. Large, quiet, clean room, and roll-top both a real bonus.

Cons -

  • The room seemed rather tired and shabby. The basin was cracked, there was only one bedside table as the room was small. The switches for the bedside lights were not located in an easy position to turn on and off.
  • 10am check out is a little early - 11am would be amazing.
  • Apart from the stairs all really good

Friendly staff, comfortable room, good food and atmosphere. Great location too, right on river.

A little more attention in bathroom grouting, needed freshening up but otherwise clean.

Beautiful room with rolltop bath which unfortunately I didn’t find time to enjoy on my short stay. The bathroom was spacious with a roomy shower. I appreciated tea and coffee making facilities and fresh milk; a good tv; and a very comfortable bed. It was also great t have parking and the lovely location by the river with a short walk to town.

Nothing to complain about.

Clean and tidy - staff very professional helpful courteous

Bedroom blinds do not shut out the light so we both woke early

Room was nice and the bathroom had a bath and shower, also it was spotlessly clean. The WiFi worked well. I did manage to get a space in the small car park. Lovely setting by the river and a short walk to the town centre.

There were several small things that slightly spoilt the experience. Breakfast didn't start until 08:30 and check out was 10am, not much time after breakfast. Breakfast was an expensive extra, served with half a mushroom, half a tomato and just one slice of toast. At no time was I offered more toast or tea and nobody enquired if everything was OK.Evening meals stopped at 8pm, which is rather early, so I took the short walk to the King William IV and had a nice meal, they serve until 9pm.Guest should note that the car park is quite small and a space is not guaranteed. One final irritation was someone knocking on the at 09:40 wanting to clean the room. Surely, if I hadn't handed in the key I was still there! I would suggest that either breakfast should start at 8am or check out put back to at least 10:30. There were a lot of really nice people working there but meal timings and check out arrangements are of benefit to the staff not the guests.

Everything. Lovely bar, restaurant and the view across the dart, excellent room

The location was nice. The bed was comfy and we liked the teas, coffee, biscuits and bottle of milk provided.

There wasn’t a bedside table on one side of the bed so nowhere to put cup of tea. We felt the price was quite steep considering breakfast wasn’t provided in the deal. Breakfast was £15 which we felt was quite steep. Would have preferred the option of a lighter breakfast such as croissants.

Amazing stylish room with roll top bath plus a walk in shower in the bathroom. Very comfortable bed. Staff were great. Breakfast very good with quality ingredients and great coffee.

It’s an old building, so quite bad sound insulation between floors.
