Pros +
- Clean room and updated bathroom.
- The beautiful old building, the location, the restaurant and bar.
- Room was lovely very clean
Cons -
- Room doors did not fit properly. Lots of stairs.
- Radiator in bathroom not working. Bar staff could have been a bit friendlier, ie don’t fold your arms when asking what you want to drink
- The first room we were put in was tiny, airless and loud (early!) as we were right by the loading area. However, once we moved rooms thanks to the wonderful staff we were more comfortable. The rooms were pricey compared to the other places we stayed on this trip - equivalent to renting entire apartments everywhere else, despite the small room size and lack of amenities such as a mini-fridge.

This is a great hotel! We loved it! It was very comfortable and fun! The lounge or pub was very lively and full of people and dogs. The room was very nice and comfy. The bathroom was great. The only negative was we had to carry our bags upstairs. It was very convenient to the castle. We highly recommend this hotel.
Excellent and kind staff, from the front desk to the kitchen. Good food. Lovely location. Everything was very clean. The bathrooms were nicely up-to-date.

The location and most of the staff, especially Carol and Harriet. The food was good.
Everything expensive, uncomfortable bed and pillows
Our rooms were lovely. We were grateful to be able to store our luggage before check in. The food was delicious. The breakfast options were plentiful.
The price for two rooms was high. My husband and I traveled with our adult daughter, so we couldn't get by with just one room. Wish there were a discount when reserving two rooms for a family. Other than that, the only downside is that I received MANY - far too many - emails and messages from the hotel about my stay. Probably at least a dozen if not more. Partly this happened because I reserved two rooms, but still, there is no need to send that many messages. Please pare them down to the bare minimum. Travelers already receive too many notifications about everything.
Staff were very friendly and polite. Good choice of food on the menu - wonderful steak!Breakfast was great.
Castle view room was tired and the bathroom facilities were inadequate - water pressure was a real issue.Wi Fi was terrible throughout. I thought for the price that this was very disappointing.
nice clean hotel freindly staff and a great location
The service staff were excellent and friendly. The food was very good. I had the lemon and herb chicken and was very impressed.
Hallways were narrow and housecleaning left piles of laundry in the hallways out of necessity. Historical building issues.
Hotel was very busy, I think they had a wedding then following day, but the service and experience was great.Dinner was excellent and I was away very early so only had continental breakfast, but it was very good.
The staff at breakfast were absolutely lovely! As someone who has a couple of intolerances, I really appreciated their support making the breakfast suitable to me. They even did me separate mushrooms and potatoes for me in dairy free fat, which was SO wonderful and meant I didn't miss out on anything. Really delicious. Room was lovely and a gorgeous location.
The room was perfect , very comfortable and clean.Breakfast was good but maybe could offer more over and above eggs, ie porridge.Dinner was excellent. We ate outside in the sunshine and the service was faultless.
Friendly staff, great location.
Limited vegan food
Bedrooms were good, looked recently refurbished.
Breakfast was poor. Overcooked poached eggs, undercooked bacon and sausage. Also our party requested menus for food in the bar at 8.30pm to be told the kitchen had closed and no food available. Poor…..we are residents.
Easy access to Bamburgh Castle and Beach, with a short walk down to their locations. Staff was friendly and very helpful, the room was clean, the wifi worked, the bathroom was clean and worked. Breakfast was a treat !
Twice, there was this alarm that went off, once in the morning and once in the evening .... scared the shit out of me. I think it was someone going through an emergency exit or something by mistake ? If they fix this issue with some proper signage, the place would be 10/10. I got lucky with street parking, if you can find it, get it, so that you don't have to worry about moving your car, on the day of your checkout.
Good food, friendly staff
Flat hard pillows and room was outside main area.
Location, cleanliness, comfort and staff were excellent.
All good.
