Pros +
- Close to priory - food &bar on site. Good breakfast
- Friendly staffGood location
- The location goes without saying! The rooms are fantastically decorated, modern, but still keeping within a lot of the original Manor House features. The staff are lovely and accommodating, ready to chat about the island with recommendations. For somewhere where I imagine there’s heavy tourism, sometimes you can encounter staff who are clearly sick of tourists…. But not this place. Lovely genuine people.
Cons -
- Room keys was old fashioned yale lock key - minor issue!
- Lumpy old pillows
- Genuinely nothing. Other than we were told to be guaranteed to see some seals and we didn’t… haha

The staff were friendly and helpful
Small room with no sea view as we had dogs with us as did a lot of other people staying
Food was very good and staff very helpful. Our room was warm and comfortable Ground floor decor a bit bewildering
Weather was terrible
LocationBar area aesthetically pleasing and cosy
Stairwell and rooms a bit care worn Electricity outage - generator not working Not good if you require a breathing machine for sleep apnoea. No hot breakfast as a result - could have offered brunch later or some refund , discount from evening meal
We were upgraded to a sea view room fo free.. the views were amazing. The bathroom was lush. The bath and shower were unreal
Everything !!Very friendly staff, beautiful room facing the castly, excellent evening meal and breakfast ( local kipper) and very convenient for the island paths and abbey
Friendly staff, lovely breakfast got upgraded room at no extra cost which was beautiful with views of castle and priory.
Weather was bad rain couldn't explore much due to this but will be back in nicer weather
The staff were all very friendly, helpful and approachable. It was my birthday during our stay and they even produced a birthday card!
Locaton was excellent. The service was great. The food was excellent
the decor was a bit tired at places
The location was wonderful and the staff were friendly and helping. The evening meal we had was delicious.
The accommodation was not very clean. It really needs updating. We are staying in a Premier Inn tonight and it is much cleaner and more comfortable.
Beautiful and historic manor house in the prime spot on the island, I would say! Everything was very smart, clean and the room was elegantly furnished and felt like a beautiful stepBack in time.
Loverly place to stay with views of the priory and sea, the kind lady upgraded out room free of charge to the sea view which was really kind . The evening meal was well cooked and breakfast was yummy , oh and free parking
Exactly what we needed right on Holy Island, we had the quad room on the top floor, large room, comfortable and airy
Nothing I didn’t like
Amazing breakfast and meals. Staff were so friendly and helpful, even organising packed lunch on last day as I missed breakfast - due to leaving early.
The staff were friendly and welcoming - they were the best thing about staying here. The breakfast was decent, with a lot of choices - plus the cereal is kept in a repurposed red telephone box, which is marvellous
We booked three rooms for one night for the extended family. Our room was extremely dirty - my husband dropped something under the bed and was horrified by the dirt and grime under there. Little things like the bed linen not being properly tucked in, and dog hair on the carpet and lime scale all over the shower don't make you feel very relaxed. The whole place felt quite tired and in need of some TLC. We all ate at the restaurant for lunch and my food - I had the fish and chips - was pretty good. But my husband had the burger and said it tasted funny. Sure enough, he was violently sick two hours later and it all came back up again. We paid £550 for the three rooms during low season, which was a total rip -off. The staff at the Priory and Castle decided not to open - not the hotel's fault - but made this an even more expensive error. Other travellers we met paid £600 for a week in a nearby cottage. We couldn't meet the three-day minimum stay or we'd have done the same.
Our room was amazing, with wonderful decor. The views of the abbey and the castle made it just perfect.
Staff were excellent, breakfast was great as were all hotel facilities.
Lovely room with sea view. The staff were fantastic and the food was lovely. I wish we had booked two nights and will definitely visit again.
