Cairn Hotel

Breakfast was well cooked, and very nicely presented. Cooked to order. Butcher’s bacon and black pudding was of a very good standard. Having the access to pub for evening meal was an excellent extra convenience. Staff were all very pleasant.

Great food. Friendly staff. Good pub atmosphere. Lovely room. Comfy bed.

Friendly, welcoming staff, room was warm, comfortable and spotless and food was excellent.

A lovely place to stay. Very comfy beds and the Tunnocks bars were a nice touch. The food was excellent too and we couldn't ask for a more yummy breakfast!! Also notable is the very reasonable kids menu with great quality food (which is sadly not always the case). We'll be back!

Bathroom ventilation needs fixing.

Scenic location, quieter than main town but only a short drive from the slopes and lochs. Excellent, very friendly and helpful staff, excellent food and great range at the bar with nice local beers on tap.

Easy check-in at Pub, which has good food and Real Ales. Staff was very sweet to my dog.

the location for our stay was perfect, staff were lovely, room was clean and a great size. Breakfast was lovely.

the bathroom was on a slight slope so wasnt ideal but you get used to it. there isn't alot to do around the area but a 10min drive and theres lots to do.

I always feel at home at the Cairn. True Scottish hospitality at its best, with a very warm welcome. Tastefully decorated rooms. Very good choice of breakfast.

Disappointing

It wasn’t very clean.The toilets are outside the bedroom.The mattress is a bit tired to say the least.

Another great stay at Cairn Hotel. Friendly, welcoming staff, comfy, clean bed and thee best breakfast. Hope to be back again soon. Ideal location for walking and set in beautiful countryside. Handy for Aviemore, Speyside and Inverness.

Couldn't get the taps/plug to work in bath - might just have been me though!

Lovely location, very welcoming and helpful staff, bar area great atmosphere, lovely food, with great range of options and excellent breakfast available from 7.30 am which was very handy.

The bathroom in the room could do with a bit of a refurb.

Small room even for one. Radiator broken so room was cold. I had to go and ask about this and was told there was a small electric heater in the wardrobe. This did, eventually, heat the room, but it took a while. Room was cold again in the morning. Shower cubicle too small. Shower eventually heated up but went cold after few minutes before heating up again, etc. The water would be at full spray then trickle through, then full spray again. Absolute faff. Mattress was Not good quality. Hardly slept. Not really good enough. Won't be back.

They upgraded me to a double room. It was warm, the shower was really nice. The provided hot chocolate was amazing.

Very friendly staff. Food excellent.

Unfortunately radiator in my room had a damaged regulator. The shower only uses cold water. When you turn switch to hot/warm it cuts off. Had to wash at sink. I didn't mention this at check out as nice lady was taking my payment and getting back to guests requiring breakfast.

Stayed in the hotel rooms next to the main hotel, the room was clean and comfortable and had everything I needed. Hotel pub was cosy and a lovely pint. Would book again if I return to the area.
