    Pros +

    • Gorgeous seafront view from bedroom. Chef is gluten-free and there are plenty of gluten-free options available at the restaurant and in the surrounding village. Had a nice swim in the pool all to myself!
    • Best location on the island.
    • The location is fantastic over looking the sea towards Kintyre. Very peaceful and beautiful. Staff are very friendly and efficient. Room comfortable, clean and cosy.

    Cons -

    • Pool facilities could definitely be a bit cleaner. Maybe more veggie options on menu in future. But that's me grasping at straws.
    • What I didn’t like about the hotel was the lack of a reasonable room option for solo travellers. You’re basically forced into a bad choice:•£70 for a tiny single room with no view, or•£154 for a properly sized double room with a nice view, but paying almost double just to stay alone. There’s no middle ground — no normal-sized room at a fair price for one person. It feels unnecessarily punitive for single guests and out of proportion to the actual difference in room quality.
    • The small print regarding the breakfast wasn't included in price. Probably our mistake. We had left without paying for breakfast, a genuine mistake.

All food was exellent. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. The biggest downside is the frequent cancellation of ferries at short notice. Would think twice about visiting again.

The small print regarding the breakfast wasn't included in price. Probably our mistake. We had left without paying for breakfast, a genuine mistake.

The condition of the bathroom was excellent and there was ample space in the room especially as I had a single room. The food was really good and the staff were really friendly and helpful

Some of the bedroom furniture was aging and the pillows were too soft, not supportive.

Breakfast was excellent and the restaurant was very good too. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel facilities and views were great. I really liked this hotel.

I was in a single room and my colleague in a double and we both found our beds uncomfortable and so neither of us slept particularly well. We were on a ground floor and also could hear people in the adjoining rooms very clearly.

Food was great Swimming pool was quiet

Soft pillowsWould prefer a firmer pillow but that's just a personal preference

Clean place, good location, great food, bicycle lock up storage,

Beautiful location. Excellent breakfast. Kippers available !!

Difficult to access room on mobility scooter but they acquired a wheelchair for me. They were not aware I needed an accessible room. And solved the problem. Much appreciated

I liked the location abd the overall decor of the room and lounges, in particular the large windows with views of the sea. Breakfast was good.

Dinner,(food and wine), were 'ok' but nothing more!

Location. Super efficient and friendly staff

Food portions FAR too big. Sad buy wasted

    9HamishPosted on: 9-8-2025

The location is superb, overlooking the beach and tiny harbour. The views across to the Mull of Kintyre are magical. The staff were exceptional and given difficulties over the ferries assisted with additional accommodation. The evening dining was very good with a very fair priced menu. Portion sizes were generous. All the serving staff were excellent. All in all , just outstanding.

Nothing really. It was is a great hotel.

    10GillanPosted on: 9-7-2025

The location was wonderful. Worth it to ask for a sea view room. Room was spacious and clean. Hotel has pool, squash and table tennis for guests. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

Dinner booking was a bit random. Various people had their own lists of diners, and somewhat confusing about dinner plans.

Very good eat on 4 single rooms for a golf outing. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and very attentive.
