Pros +
- The breakfast was very good
- Friendly, quirky and good food, drink and atmosphere.
- Great location, breakfast was very good. All staff very friendly
Cons -
- There is a problem with the soundproofing in the room the result is you can hear every move that somebody makes whether next door, above or on the staircase. It's so loud you would think they were in the same room, very annoying. The price was a bit steep
- Couple of minor defects in the bathroom, due to a busy summer period drawing to an end, I'm sure these will be rectified ready for 2026 main season.
- Dated bar and lounge but clean

Great location, breakfast was very good. All staff very friendly
Excellent stay, especially the breakfast which is complimentary. They have a table for each room so it's literally waiting for you when you come down.
Lovely old house in a great location in Brodick, the bar is well used by locals and visitors alike, ensuring a very nice atmosphere. Room was warm and spotlessly clean, all staff were very friendly and attentive.

Bathroom nicely updated, bed was super comfy, food was delicious and staff were friendly
Dated bar and lounge but clean
Beautiful building, great location for exploring Arran. Friendly staff and a very comfortable bed. Food was very nice.
Great location, very friendly staff and friendly locals in the bar.
Only slight downside is the bedroom was on the small side for two of us plus dog.
It was a comfortable back Packers hotel, with excellent food, comfortable beds, friendly staff and welcoming and a place to relax without any hidden extras
There was no hand soap in the wash room or flannels. I'm sure if I asked they would kindly have given
Location, breakfast, bathroom mirror light, roomSize, the staff, evening meals were good portions
Mattress could be harder if we’re nitpicking
The hotel is set in an ancient woodland with some the tress I would guess being well over 200 years old. That in itself sets the hotel out from all the others in Brodick. The bar meals are very good and plentiful. Rooms are spacious and the ensuite shower is one that you don't want to get out of. The hotel is about 200 yards from the main road so its very quiet and peaceful. Great selection of ales and whiskey in the bar. Breakfast ranges from a full Scottish breakfast to kippers and toast. Staff are very knowledgeable about the area, so please do ask them any question regarding things to do and places to go. What a great stay and cant wait to get back.
Nothing to complain about.
Black pudding was excellent. Whole breakfast very good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The view from my room would have been ok if the bread trays and other packaging were stored out of sight.
The view see above.the view from my window if the bread boxes and other packaging had been stored out of sight the view would be of forestry
A really lovely inn with a terrific breakfast and friendly staff. The pub is great, not loud, just pleasant, with traditional session one night and a fun pub quiz another. Friendly family restaurant with great fish and chips and haggis. Short walk to town center and a great base for the rest of Arran.
Clean and welcoming. Had a short stay with my mum in a comfortable twin room. Great breakfast. Lovely grounds and good location. Staff were fabulous
Charming old hotel, room comfortable with decent facilities, staff all very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was provided in our rate, choice was ample and thoroughly enjoyed. Only used the restaurant for dinner once, excellent quality pub grub. We used the hotel for 3 nights as a base for walking, its just under a mile walk from the ferry.
WD40 needed for the ensuite door, to nit-pick!
The location is lovely, just a short stroll from the ferry. Lovely garden with good views. Room was very modern with everything I could want and a super comfy bed.The bar served a great meal and the staff were very helpful.Breakfast was lovely and plentiful with lots of cooked options plus fruit cereals etc
It was slightly warm in my room, but that's because it's south facing and I stayed on probably the hottest day of the year... Being south facing would be an advantage on the other 364 days!
Room was modern fresh and very clean
The grounds are very overgrown and in need of a gardener. The entrance and bar area badly in need of a cleaning company going in. We get the vibe they are aiming for but so far off the mark with this they need professional advice.
I liked the fact it was a lovely old period property and the dining room was gorgeous with amazing breakfasts
The extractor fan noise from the kitchens as my room was at the side
I loved the old original house not been changed or modernised . In a perfect quiet location only 5 mins walk to the seafront.
The kitchen door had an hole in it and the bar smelt very strong of smoke and a fusty smell.
Lovely fresh room tastefully decorated and furnished. Great shower
The food was excellent. The staff so helpful and friendly. Great friendly bar good entertainment.
