Pros +
- Atholl House Skye is a lovely property very near the sea. The staff are so kind and welcoming, and they saw to every little thing, from complementary in-room tea and biscuits, to a DELICIOUS continental breakfast (fresh Scottish salmon, local cheeses, pastries, custom made porridge, coffee etc), and a lovely drink service in the evening in the lounge with other guests. The rooms were spotless and beds very comfortable. I will definitely be staying at Atholl House again! Tip: please make sure you allow more time than you think you need to drive across Skye, and don’t drive at night (the roads are narrow and there are a lot of switchbacks). The property is wonderfully situated near Talisker Distillery, Coral Beach, and many other points of interest. 10/10 would recommend to anyone!

- Lovely place! Very comfortable bed and pillows. Great food in restaurant and walkable to other places. Friendly helpful staff. Homey feeling lounge area for drinks, coffee or just sitting. Rather hated to leave.
Cons -
- All the properties on Skye were exp pensive, but this was better than most. So I had nothing bad to say.

The property was beautiful. E we had a small double room, but the bed was a queen with plenty of room. The breakfast was very good.

Jenn and her staff are head and shoulders above the rest. Pride of ownership shows. Dinners were very tasty. The venison stew was exceptional! The squash, almond and lentils Wellington was mouth watering. Cozy! Relaxing!
Liked everything
Well, what's not to like? The location was perfect, a short drive to some great hikes, several decent restaurants within walking distance, a quiet room with a super comfortable bed. All great, but the big winner was the staff--Jenn, the owner, provided us with incredible suggestions on hiking that were aimed at our comfort and "equipment level"--we came with rainwear and boots for the bogs. Every evening settling into the lounge for some pre dinner gin and post dinner whisky. The breakfast was wonderful--smoked salmon and the creamiest yoghurt. We ate dinner at the inn 2 times and it was quite good as well. Highly recommended.
The location is stunning. Providing walking gear is such a thoughtful extra. Some of the best food we have had anywhere. Staff are so friendly and the rooms are very comfortable.

Exceptional staff, wonderful breakfast included, great choice of evening meals, very clean ,welcoming hotel.
The staff were fantastic - so friendly and helpful! The room was spotless and so comfortable, and we loved the guest lounge. After a day of hiking in the wind and rain, being able to sit in front of the log fire with a few drinks was heaven - the great range on the drinks menu was an unexpected bonus! Everything at breakfast was so local, we'd definitely be back!
Location, food ,atmosphere ,staff ,lovely sitting area with log burner, could not fault anything
Exceptional customer service and breakfast. The hosts were warm and welcoming. Genuinely recommend other travelers to stay at this property. A tip of the hat to Jenny, Rachel and team for being gracious hosts
It is located in a very good spot (with free parking) for trekking, distilleries visits or other activities (if you dare to swim!). The staff is very welcoming and friendly. The food at dinner is local and offer isle beers and whiskies. Also, there is a gas station just closed by if you want to refill the next morning.
Nothing!
Our host Jennie gave us a beautiful first class experience! We felt like we were treated like her family rather than just guests! Our room was spacious and comfortable and our meals were excellent with lots of options! All of her staff were so very kind and friendly. They were very helpful and knowledgeable about Skye and gave us lots of useful tips. The snug had a warm cosy fireplace and comfy seating and the lounge room was bright and airy again with comfortable seating and views of the sheep and sea nearby. Meeting Jennie's parents for a pre dinner drink was also a highlight of our stay!!We would definitely suggest Atholl House to anyone wishing to stay for a few days on Skye. You will not be disappointed!!
A suggestion would be improved lighting around the mirror area above the sink.
Breakfast was fine, good options and always good quality. Lovely quiet location, friendly staff.
I would have preferred more dinner choices, particularily at the weekend. Riding a motorbike means dinner locations are limited by the weather and the need to dress safely so dining in was pretty much mandatory. Perhaps steak and venison options?
What a Gem! Absolutely everything was incredible. Received the warmest welcome, had the most amazing food and received such fabulous, friendly service.
We had a quick visit to Skye, staying just one night. Jenny and Michelle took great care of us, accommodating our food allergies. Food was delicious!
King size room does not equal standard American king sized bed. Be sure to read the size description. This was an unwelcome surprise.
Cleanliness, staff, food
Lovely hotel with outstanding staff. The food in the restaurant was traditional and delicious. Excellent breakfast included with lots of choices. Clean and spacious rooms. Friendly and inviting lounge to sit and enjoy a drink, or two.
Nothing. It was perfect. Highly recommend!
