    Pros +

    • Clean, comfortable, warm
    • Good breakfast service. The room was big and clean.
    • The location is beautiful and handy for Monkey World. The golf course looked nice and seemed popular as do the lodges.

    Cons -

    • All good!
    • A little bit difficult to get there
    • The food was not good at all Think old style school dinner rather than restaurant level, cooks not chefs. I regretted buying it and wished I had asked for a discount. The main property and hotel needed a clean and are outdated. The room was stuffy. Any awards for this resort are from seven years ago but are emblazoned over the website.

It was on a beautiful golf course.

It didn’t feel like we were treated well. We arrived late due to the train, and were told to pick up keys at the clubhouse. A very young man, who seemed to have never checked someone in before, stumbled through the process. He gave us keys and pointed to where we would find the lodge. It was ACROSS the street, and BEHIND a completely different building! I can’t believe he didn’t walk us over there himself! Then…when we got to the lodge door, a large man was fumbling in his pockets. He eventually admitted he didn’t have his key or the door code, then stood back and looked at me expectantly to let him in! So…here I am, a woman with her 17 years old son, in the dark, with a bunch of luggage, and a stranger is expecting me to just let him into a secured building I plan to sleep in… Nope!! I let him know that wasn’t happening, and he needed to find help for himself. I stood back and waited while he called his son down to let him in. Then!! He rushed inside and angrily shut the door behind him. Incredibly rude. I waited for them to clear away, then used our code to let myself and my son in. In short…their after hours check in procedure could use some improvement. It was a very regrettable experience.

    Close to the tank museum.

Walls are then and people were noisy.

The room was clean and warm. The parking was good. The food was good, but the portions were rather too much.

Nice quiet location, we weren't there for golfing, but we liked the area. The room was very clean and comfortable, plus more than the usual amount of tea, coffee the room . The accommodation was opposite the golf club, with ample parking. Breakfast was served in the golf course restaurant.. Breakfast was very good, excellent choice of food, can't beat a good English breakfast in the morning.

Unable to turn down the radiator in the bathroom..

We spent a fantastic three nights at The Dorset Resort Hotel, and we were tempted to extend our stay because we were having such a great time down there. The Hotel appears to be in quite a remote location, but in actual fact it is very well positioned for exploring the local area. Corfe Castle, Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door (not to mention the Tank Museum!) are all within very easy reach of the hotel. The breakfast was excellent and sitting in the sunny dining room overlooking the golf course was very pleasant. We spent a couple of evenings playing Pool in the bar and it had a really nice atmosphere. We thought our stay was really good value and we will definitely consider staying there again…

Spacious room and bathroom and location.

    Noise and thin walls.

Quiet location, tastefully decorated, comfortable and exceptionally clean.

Nothing at all - all good.

Good location .Breakfast- not a wide choice but adequate.Room excellent in cleanliness, decor , beds, shower.Good for golfers! We are not golfers but chose this hotel for its location.

The rooms have thin walls! Woken up at 2 am by sound of next door occupant retching. The hotel rooms are across a road but occasional cars do speed along. But there are notices to tell guests to be careful.

Lovely location, Extremely clean, a great to have a little evening entertainment when you are travelling alone for work.

breakfast was a bit too greasy, the sausages were a bit tasteless and the black pudding was a little rubbery. The mattress was uncomfortable.

Well decorated, clean and spacious room. The staff here were extremely friendly, great breakfast options, facilities are about as good as they come! Really happy and will definitely be staying again at some point.

It's a 7 minute drive to the Tank Museum, which was my reason for visiting the area. It's also the reason for picking this venue. The room looked nice and was clean. The clubhouse (when available) was well decorated, and the breakfast was servicable. But...

The building itself is a chocolate teapot. It's nicely decorated in many places, but as a hotel it's a chocolate teapot. The lodge house was built (or converted?) to have very thin internal walls, so you hear everything your neighbouring guests say, or every word out of their TVs. This is compounded by all facilities shutting down early in the evening, meaning there's no where for guests to go apart from their rooms. As it stands, the place is one step up from student accomadations, and all the fancy decoration can't hide or change that that. I'm sure the private challets are much nicer, but the time I had to spend in the lodge house itself was deeply unpleasent. That building is vastly overpriced for what it is. You couldn't pay me enough to stay in that building again.

Room sizes, location within a golf course, access to Wareham. Great buffet breakfast too.

Great facilities and breakfast.Nice decor and comfortable bed.

The room was very hot and there seemed no way to turn the heating down.

    3SamPosted on: 1-8-2025

The property was located close to the tank museum which is why I chose it. Also easy to get into local town- Warehem which has a lovely Italian restaurant.

We felt like we were invisible- it’s a golf resort (which I knew) but it seemed quality customer services were reserved for golfers only. The walls to our room were paper thin and we could hear our neighbours partying until 2:15am. Reception closed at 8pm, so there was no one available to help us. There was old hot chocolate powder left in one of the mugs in the room.Decor in the breakfast room was very dark and dated. Staff were busy entertaining and serving a large golfing party and not waiting on tables. I had to keep going to the bar to ask for sugar etc. (which wasn’t on The table). There were paper lists on the table with tick boxes so you could choose your breakfast which we noticed and had to take to the bar to get breakfast. When we checked out, staff were too busy to notice and no one asked us (at any point ) if we had slept well, enjoyed our stay. I left the key on the counter.I defiantly wouldn’t recommend staying here and would never stay here again. It’s most definitely over priced. I chose this hotel because if its proximity to the tank museum, in hindsight, I would have rather stayed further away in a travel lodge or premier inn. At least you know what you’re getting for your money and for half the price.

The staff were great, the place was very clean and comfortable and attractive, the breakfast was good. Most of all it was very good value for money
