Location we knew what to expect having stayed previously
The breakfast well presented but could have been warmer.
friendly and convenient. A good breakfast
Lovely building - secure parking in centre of lovely town - historic ruined castle view - good bar - plus rare things these days: real bath and coffee/tea making facilities in room - excellent break.
The rooms are spacious with beautifully designed interiors and a generously sized bathroom. Booking through Booking.com included a dinner discount, which was a great bonus. Free parking is available, including one EV charging point.

The hotel is a very good size. They offer breakfast for guests and have meals available for lunch and dinner. We stayed for dinner one night and found the food very nice and the price quite decent. There is a nice variety for breakfast, you could have continental or cooked with a nice selection of cooked food. Our room was an accessible room. Much less fancy but a shower that I could use and far fewer steps. The hotel apparently has 4 floors with rooms. The staff are friendly and happy to help.
The only thing I could say we didn't like was the vibration in our room. There is some sort of machinery that runs all the time below the room. We had to move a few things around to stop them from rattling at night so we could sleep. They staff were informed and quite appologetic but not sure if the issue was looked at. The radiator in the shower room was on all the time but if we kept the door shut it did not make the room uncomfortable.

Prices very reasonable. Breakfast was delicious. Staff lovely.
Minor things. Not really worth mentioning, but felt for the price, it was kind of what you would expect.
Nice comfy beds and pillows and great location in the centre of the town
The location was great
The room we had was a bit tired but my main gripe was the wedding reception being held directly below our room with music blasting out and very noisy guests until 12.45 am. Wrong room for non wedding guests, I complained once then went back down to complain again but no staff members were around. Very poor
Clean , good food and value for money
Dinner and breakfast were generous in portions. All staff engaging and ready to talk and help. Friendly.
Dining rooms could be smartened up with fresh paint etc. But this is a busy town hotel.
Friendly staff, lovely and reasonably priced food, hotel full.of character and in an excellent location
Everything was fine
Comfortable and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Room was clean and comfortable with handy toiletries and tea/coffee making facilities. Great food. My 18 year old daughter really wanted the pasta from the child’s menu so they done her an adult portion. On the second night, we were so tired from our hike and asked if we could order dinner to our room at reception, they brought it to our room. The bar and restaurant were comfortably busy, lots going on but not overly noisy and our room was quiet. There’s a handy little shop next door too.
Nothing negative to say at all.
Very friendly reception on arrival who explained the parking and took me to the room.Room was comfortable
TV worked but had no reception
A good stay, friendly staff and an excellent breakfast choice. The room was pleasant, but would not call it a superior room. Also the en-suite shower was small for the size of the room and the fan and mirror light was not working.
A great hotel , great staff , lovely food, very central and parking
Disappointing
Tatty ‘deluxe room’, lumpy mattress and pillow, fusty smelling towels. Stale salmon for dinner, intermittent service
