The Anvil Lodge

My plane was delayed by couple of hours and I missed booking in and lost my fee as it was an unrefundable booking.

It is NOT a hotel. It is a bed and breakfast and they close their doors for at 9.30pm Made phone calls and male staff member wasn't interested and put the phone down. Cannot give opinion as I didn't stay in the end of the of the day as it was closed.

Good location, easy access to Town amenities, great Italian restaurant within short walking distance, large comfortable bed, large bathroom, great breakfast, hosts very pleasant and helpful, will definitely stay again when in the area.

The hosts were lovely, very attentive and friendly. The bed was huge, very comfortable and the room was surprisingly large. Breakfast was also delicious and the host found a little treat for our son too which was really thoughtful. Thank you for a wonderful stay and we will be sure to return if we are back that way.

On arrival, I was met by the owner who was very welcoming and accommodating. The room was spacious with all the usual bits and pieces (kettle, coffee, teabags, biscuits) plus a bottle of water so I didn't have to fill a glass from the bathroom sink which was a lovely touch.I asked if I could have an iron to iron my shirt for the morning, and because the rooms don't have this facility, the host offered to do it for me - which was extremely generous and went above and beyond my expectations. The breakfast (cereal, toast, juice, plus a full english) was delicious and freshly cooked - nothing had dried out from sitting under a hotplate for god knows how long. All in, this was a delightful place to stay and I would absolutely stay again.And the pub next door is great too!

I arrived late and picked up a takeaway for my dinner, and the only surface to eat it was on the vanity unit which was tucked away in a corner.

Owners very helpful. Accommodation was extremely spacious, lovely bed, everything we needed was provided. Brilliant breakfast. Good parking. Excellent value - would stay again.

Good base to explore ironbridge area. Room was comfortable with very big bed. Good breakfast available each morning.

Only criticism was the Wi-Fi which we struggled to pick up.

We stayed at the Anvil Lodge for a couple of nights. Mick and Judy are great hosts from checking-in to goodbye all was good. Breakfast with all the trimmings sets you up for the day. Room clean and tidy. I can't think of even a little niggle. Would definitely go back if in the area again.

Breakfast was ok but the owner was watching us eat and criticising was our son was and was not eating.Nice guy but it was a bit much. We would have appreciated some space

Excellent B n B. The full English breakfast was first class. Spacious and well equipped room. It's next door to a real ale pub.

Everything, breakfast was delicious, welcome was very friendly, accomodation was spacious, clean and nicely decorated. The Anvil pub next door didn't cause any issues, didn't hear anyone leaving,serves filled roll,hot sausage rolls fantastic range of real ale's. We had a fabulous visit.

Nothing....no issues whatsoever and we will be more than happy to book again.

The warm and friendly welcome. The exceptional room, the best nights sleep that I've ever had in a B&B/Hotel/Guest house.A lovely leisurely breakfast. Highly recommended 10/10 on every scale.
