Pros +
- We came because we had stayed in the Wansfell when we married 60 years ago. Name had changed but much the same! Staff were very friendly, we had a long chat with Stuart at breakfast as, being the only 'normal' guests we were last down for breakfast (not rushing off to work).
- The view of the sea was amazing
- Customer service was excellent and it was every staff that I dealt with me either by the phone or in person was very helpful.
Cons -
- We arrived on Sunday and the bar / restuarant did not open
- WiFi didn't work on my phone and the shower holder was loose.
- We did not like the fact there was nobody there on arrival, only envelope with key in. Any queries were dealt with via staff at a pub several miles away, who after several calls for problems we had seemed irritated.

The room had been recently decorated, lovely big bay window overlooking sea/beach.All of the staff were lovely and very friendly.Great breakfast, put on very early due to a cycling event, we have never stayed at a hotel that had done this before and we really appreciated it. Beach/sea just over the road.Plenty of parking available at the back of the hotel.
The Hotel was on the seafront, with great views. The rooms were very clean and well-equipped. The breakfast was a choice that the chef personally cooked for you and the food received was delicious. The staff we spoke to were all very friendly.
RT ON THE SEA FRONT Whole wide window covering the spanse of my room. The sea is natural .nothing artificial man made here. This has made my whole stay exceptional. I truly would love to come back to this hotel . Ps. IHave eaten a banquet cooked by ladies who are spot on for anyone coming here .And that beach hammock .could go on forever but this is the beginning of my holiday here in the Lake District. What a lovely hotel and the sea .touched me.makes the whole yr.
Nice, clean, recently redecorated room with sea view. Friendly staff and good food
Nothing of note
Restful and good for business trips, good friendly staff
Gym equipment needs fixing, especially the punch bag and desk light broken and wasn't replaced when asked. Good staff, though, probably just forgot
Beautiful views, local fish and chips and ace breakfast very close to rail connections
Bit pricey, skeleton staff. Great for work
Friendly staff, great food and amazing location.
Bar not open until 5pm.

Lovely hotel, amazing staff. Excellent evening meal. Hotel and decor a bit ‘tired’
Staff and location
Bed not comfortable, bashed head on shower door when rising from toilet. No bed side table or lamps
food is great, staff are super friendly, super close to the beach, dog friendly
I have stayed a few times - this time my room was small, quite noisy in the morning with a giddy cleaning gang which is lovely - but 7.30 AM, no lying in here ! I will ask for a seaview room next time x
Staff great friendly and polite. Breakfast great.

The staff, hospitality, the food are all bang on point. It’s a no nonsense friendly hotel. Went for a nice walk on the fantastic beach on the doorstep. And in the evening you get the greatest of sunsets with the Isle of Man on the Horizon. I’d go back again.
When I drove into it and picked my key up from a closed reception area I thought OMG what have I booked here, but as I said don’t judge a book by the cover, I had a great stayBut the room was more than good enough and clean. Modern tv etc.
