The Maxwell Arms Hotel

No heating. Only hot water for one shower. Not enough hooks and benches in the bathroom.

Room was spotless , is what it is for the money

Yes there was a little bit of down stairs noise from the bar but i wasn't going to be there and by the time I got back from the function I was attending the bar was closed and all quiet

The rooms were larger than expected, very clean and pleasant to stay in with friendly staff who were very accommodating making sure we were comfortable. There was adequate sound proofing that helped mitigate the sounds of downstairs and outside. Very much liked how I was able to book a room on the same day within a couple of hours of our arrival.

I didn't like the fact that the "double bed" was more literal that previously expected and instead was just two single mattresses put together. During the night's sleep there was an edge in between the two single mattress which became quite uncomfortable to sleep on at points. The other main issue was the internet that was provided first was only accessible from the main hallway so if you wanted to connect to the internet that was the only option. Second the signal from the wi-fi didn't reach the double bed in the room unless the mobile device was held next to the wall towards the door.Had a bit of trouble finding the B&B and actually missed the building before realizing you had to go into the bar in order to access the hotel side, more clear signing/information on the website would be appreciated.

Friendly staff also helpful, room had all I needed and was very comfortable

There was nothing I didn't like

Lovely big spacious room nicely decorated with towels, teas, coffees etc. massive bed, nice and quiet.

Room bit too warm all nightNo breakfast tea, just earl grey

The room was very clean, and the bed was super comfortable. I had a great nights sleep and will definitely be back again!

The only thing I didn't like was the kettle it was so old, and it gave me an electric shock when I turned it on.

The room itself was a fantastic size, perfect for two adults and two kids and really comfortable, clean bed linen and really comfortable beds and quality pillows, also the main bed was huge! Clean bathroom and good sized towels, generous tea, coffee and milk supplies.

The only downside was the noise, located on the main road and close to pubs with lots of rowdy pub goers and the bus stop was just outside the window with lots of Saturday night drunken revelry, also there was no cook and the kitchens were closed so no food available but there was a pub next door serving great food and plenty about with esso garage next door to the left.

Very spacious, clean and comfortable room!

The towel I had was a bit old and stiff.

Very quiet, clean and spacious

All good

Good size rooms with on suite bathroom comfy beds and very tidy

Good location easy parking girl behind bar very help full very well laid out room plenty milk coffee etc recommended to anyone

Nothing no complaints excellent

Great value...clean, spacious room, with comfortable beds, had a wonderful nights sleep. Friendly and helpful staff. Perfect location in the town...we will be returning. Thank you

Very nice room, super clean, has everything you need! Staff is very friendly and helpful - we had a great stay, thank you!

The rooms were really clean and the staff were all really nice, friendly and helpful.

The property is dated so in the evening you can hear the noise from downstairs and in the morning as the windows are so thin. The shower was also leaking and didn’t fit on properly so we had to hold it to use it.

Big comfortable room, clean with everything we needed. Good refreshments tray

No food, car park area dug up

Room was clean and had appropriate facilities

It's not a hotel. No reception. Have to walk into a packed bar next door to attract a staff member.

The location suited my needs very well. The room was clean and convenient and felt safe.

The hotel was without a chef so no breakfast was available; understandable but it reduced the value for money of my stay.

Friendly welcome by all staff, comfy and well laid out room, friendly atmosphere in pub

The only negatives were no secure place for bikes and it would be even better if a cooked breakfast was available.

Customer Service Spotless clean comfortable room, very cosy

Location to where I was working the next day but this in no way affect the good rating of the accomodation

Very friendly staff, booked two rooms ,comfortable beds, had good sleep ,great location
