The hotel
Easy location for the purpose of our stay. Warm room, hot water, bath. Clean bed & lovely white towels. Very basic but sufficient. Didn't have food. Very helpful friendly staff.
A little more attention to extra cleaning in routine. Fixtures & extras. My sister in law room bath needs changing (room 208)as very worn
Poor
The room wasnt clean the bath still had dirt in it and looked like it hadnt even been touched in a while
Nothing at all - refused to stay
We refused to stay at this property due to extremely poor and unsafe conditions.Upon arrival, the room was unclean. The bathroom had visible pubic hairs left in the bathtub, which clearly indicated that proper cleaning had not been carried out. This alone was unacceptable. The property was also badly misrepresented in its advertising. The reality did not match the description or images online in any way. Most concerning was the environment outside the property. There were drug users or individuals with serious issues congregating outside, creating an intimidating atmosphere and a clear health and safety concern. We did not feel safe.Due to the uncleanliness, misrepresentation, and safety issues, we left immediately and refused to stay. We are currently seeking a full refund.I would strongly advise others to avoid this property.
The bedding and the bedroom and bathroom were clean. It was cheap The man on reception was pleasant and helpful.
The rest of the hotel was rundown and the pub was closed. There was a strong smell of damp particularly in the corridors.
Not bad, not great, quite outdated, not worth 50 ish quid a night
Outdated, big standard, not the best but I'd stay again
That it was close to the place I was travelling to the next day
I arrived to find someone who was discombobulated sitting in the car park. I advised the receptionist, who went and sorted the situation out, but made for a poor first impression. The hotel has a smell. Musky, like an old people’s home, then further into the hotel there was an odour of tobacco. It wasn’t great. The pillows were pancake flat. I didn’t sleep very well at all, and the bath could have done with being replaced. There’s only so much enamel paint that can be used to cover up damage.
The only thing i liked was the low cost. But the low cost came at a big price.
didn't feel self, full of people living in the hotel ..... Kept up all night by night by noisy neighbours "partying" until 6am! No spoon for stirring tea and coffeetowels thin and hardmattress rock salad, pillows flat, whole room tired.
The bed was OK.
The fact that the radiator couldn't be turned off, there was no water, the walls were stucky, the first man at reception was horrible and rude. It was the worst "hotel" imaginable.
The place is a mess
Place is falling apartNo cleaner
I don’t like
The hotel was terrible. It is very old and poorly maintained. The bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable — impossible to sleep on. The sofa was more like an armchair and so dirty that the sides were literally shining from grime. The furniture was damaged and worn out. The bathroom was awful and very outdated. I would not recommend this hotel.
Location
Rooms need updating and beds are broke
No breakfast available. Location was great for my needs
Considering the price paid this was great . I arrived from Malta and 20 degrees to a cold and wet Leigh; the room was really well heated, clean and tidy. Great value for money.
The property was in poor condition and is being used as a half way house. We didn’t feel safe and had to leave so didn’t even use the room.
It was used as a half way house and we were follows and asked for a lighter by a man who had both his hands in casts. Told us he had just got out of prison. Also a lot of people hanging around in the lobby and outside.
Location is where we needed to be
Cleanliness of rooms absolutely disgusting, staff no help at all
It served as a place to sleep
The carpets are old and dirty. The place smells badly and also smells like cigarette. The bed and furniture are old and look very used. Repairs poorly done.I door did not close when i went out so my room was open the whole i was out. The lift does not work so i had to carry my sleeping child through the coridor and up the stairs. The hotel is in a very poor state. Even the cleaning trolley looked very dirty.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the location was ideal for what we needed.
Furniture outdated and damaged. The inside of the bath was in a bad way, the bath coating was coming away. Very bad water pressure from the shower. The bedding had some stains. People were obviously smoking cigarettes and/or cannabis as you could smell it in the stairs we'll and on our landing!
We booked the Greyhound Hotel to find a sign on the door saying closed we did walk round and went into the sporting lounge in to ask,as we walked in we were overwhelmed with the stench of the place, staff on reception not in uniform and looked scuffy other clientele in the reception area I was uncomfortable, the gent asked for passport I went back to the car to get my back and googled this place and found it was homing immigrants (not on booking.coms page) I felt vulnerable and took it upon myself to find another hotel...We had driven 2 hours for us to attend a funeral,we didn't get to the wake until 5pm and was really upset not knowing where we were going to be spending the night. We did get a room at the holiday Inn express ( even they didn't eas a passport) it's not about how much we paid for accommodation its about getting what you saw and read on the booking ohvand cleanliness dosnt cost much regards Jayne graham
