    • Location

    Cons -

    • Too popular and very crowded
    • If I being super critical the room decor could do with tlc. Bathroom sealant looks old and some paper coming away from the ceiling, there are many old light points which probably don’t need to be there
    • Expensive. Twin Room tiny should have been a single room but made into a double with very limited space, no bedside table. No where to put a drink and no bedside light.Moved to a double room but also tiny with just enough room to get out of bed. No chair or table. Bathroom had unpleasant odour.Breakfast choice was limited not up to standard for a high priced room.Would not recommend room 11 or 14 as a double room.

There is nothing that I don’t like.

It is situated in a beautiful spot surrounded by lots of greenery with Rudyard Lake just a short walk away. The staff were always friendly and the food was lovely.

The beds were hard and very uncomfortable to sleep in, the floor boards creaked everywhere and when the heating came on the radiator banged loudly so we had to turn it off.

    Very good excellent service

Check in is 2pm no flexibility otherwise a charge of £20 if want to check in early and checkout is 10 am normally its 11am elsewhere bit harsh particularly for peoplrle with families

Excellent location to explore the Rudyard Lake and Leek surrounding areas. Lovely staff!

The power shower heater water pressure and bathroom cleanliness could be a bit better.

    8TheresaPosted on: 4-12-2025

Absolutely stunning surroundings. Very comfortable family room.

We didn’t realise that the restaurant stopped serving food at 8!! We ended up having to order a dominos pizza for dinner.

We stopped for one night but were unable to use the shower in the morning. The button for altering the temperature was not working, so the water was too hot and could not be altered. I mentioned when checking out, but it was too late then as we were ready to leave.

    9JeremyPosted on: 4-6-2025

Lovely rural location and nice views down the lake. Friendly staff. Nice walks alomng the lake close by.

As I was staying on business and needed to make a relatively early start, the 8am breakfast was too late for my needs - however for holiday or leisure purposes I am sure this would be fine.

    8MaggiePosted on: 4-6-2025

A lovely position, clean and tidy room. Bed could be more comfortable to be honest but the staff are lovely, very helpful and friendly. The food is good and breakfast tasty so a happy stay. Will certainly book again.

Great location with lovely views and walks. We stayed one night with friends and booked one of the outdoor pods for dining in. It was brilliant as we were able to have our own music on and it had heating so we were lovely and warm. The food came out hot. The staff at the hotel were exceptional as it was mothers day and very busy but they were great, very friendly and happy and couldn't do enough to make our stay perfect.

Lovely location and room with beautiful view. Good pub grub for evening meal - good sized portions. Lovely breakfast - good sized portions.

Music downstairs went on about 7am - bit too early.
