Pros +
- The quiet, rural oasis was very peaceful and quiet, and yet it was conveniently close to the main road and the centre of Dunfermline.Very hospitable host.Room was clean, modern, well fitted out.Breakfast was lovely. The bar was welcoming and looked good (even though I didn’t use it).
- Easy to find, clean, comfortable, good restaurant close by
- Great place at a great price. Huge comfortable bed. En suite with electric shower. Room lovely and warm and temperature easily controlled. It was immaculately clean. Bar area for a few drinks. Owner goes above and beyond ensuring everything is perfect. Plenty of parking. Be careful not to miss the small private road turning right opposite Arnold Clark. Will definitely be back.
Cons -
- There was insufficient sound absorbing and sound-proofing between the rooms. I could hear every flick of a light switch, foot step or putting down of a cup in rooms either side which meant I was constantly woken up throughout the night. Carpeting of the floor might help.
- Extractor fan in bathroom very noisy
- Property needs updating, only breakfast available, rooms smell damp, hairdryer advertised by not there ironing board but no iron. The manager did everything reception cooking etc could be lovely if further investment was secured….

Clean, comfortable and good sized room
Extractor fan in bathroom very noisy
What a lovely stay we had. Fantastic location, great room and facilities. The staff were brilliant and really helped with our late check in. I could not fault our stay in any way!
Perfect location for town centre. Very pleased with hotel and owner so Welcoming He actually opened the bar for us when we got back from night outSpotless and comfortable rooms. Great shower
Comfortable, well equipped room. Easy parking and excellent breakfast.
Very handy for the places we needed to get to

Auld Mill is an established property that provides a good quality of service for an excellent price. The King Size room was well decorated with modern fixings and ensuite shower room. TV was a little small by current standards but perfectly functional. Addition of breakfast again was fine with a limited choice but what was prepared was good quality food and plenty of it. I would stay there again if I am in the area again.
Breakfast starts at 7:30 could be an issue for those needing to start work earlier. It was not a big problem for me but worth being aware of.
I enjoyed the clean rooms and the friendly staff.
The TV could have been a bit bigger.
Location, clean, Spacious
Bed was not comfortable at all, I could feel the springs from the mattress. I booked a double room instead of single room, as a 6ft 3in frame needs that space. Ended up in a twin room with two single beds instead. Sleep was not comfortable at all.
Excellent friendly staff.Roon very clean Excellent comfortable bed and a very tasty breakfast
Great location, easy access off Motorway. 10 mins walk from railway station access to Edinburgh. Clean and nicely furnished rooms.
Quiet location.
Room tiny, bed wasnt comfortable
We did not stay for breakfast, the host was very nice & helpful, the hotel was very central to Dunfermline City, eateries, supermarket, nightlife & last but not least pubs
A longer stay
The hotel is lovely with very comfortable rooms. The bar area was quirky with lots of old pictures and the owner couldn't have been any more hospitable. We would definitely stay there again if in the area.
Maybe a few more options for drinks in the bar however I understand it was quiet season and no point having a full bar that might go to waste.
Although a single room, it felt roomy and the bed was very comfortable. Had a lovely night sleep. Bathroom was a nice size and clean. In some hotels the bathroom of a single room can be a bit pokey, but not here. The shower was a standard size. Bedroom had a TV and a kettle with tea and coffee provided. The owner was polite and helpful in taking me to my room and pointing out where everything was.
Nothing. I've stayed here before and would stay here again.
Owner was well sound, i decided not to go out into town and ended up talking to the owner for most of the night.
I only had a single bed, which to be fair was the only room left
Easy check in,staff very helpful .
A couple of guests were very loud into the early hours.was woke up twice.
Room was good size for a single, really clean and smelled nice, shower good size and decent pressure and breakfast was good also.
Bed base in room 8 was really noisy every bit of movement made it squeak.
