The bed was so comfortable and the bedding very soft.
The shower was difficult to operate and I only managed a lukewarm shower.
Comfortable, friendly hotel, very good food
Public areas have evidently been refurbished but our bedroom was a bit ‘tired’
Warm clean and lovely place to stay. The food is outstanding. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
It was unique building.
They gym music could be heard no loudly in the bedroom early in the morning.
The staff were so friendly and helpful. Fiona on reception went out of her way to help us when we arrived after being held up, making sure we got some (very tasty) food in time. It was incredibly dog-friendly - so many staff said hello to them & nothing was too much trouble. Our room was nice & spacious, hot showers, comfy bed & warm, lovely view over the garden and trees. Excellent full Scottish breakfast, lovely country location with quiet walks for the dogs along the Clyde. We stayed here a few years ago & really like the revamp since then, looks great.
Nothing - we had a lovely, relaxed stay here and would happily book it again, it's great for us when visiting family.
Lovely bar and restaurant.
I was given an accessibility room which was next to an extractor/generator room which kept going off every 10 mins or so all night. Just outside window so kept waking me. When mentioned to staff they were aware but said nothing they can do.
Nice area
We were given room 1 above reception carpets in room disgusting headboard had all leather peeling off needs replaced bed was very uncomfortable reception was playing music from 6am at a relatively low level but the speakers in reception are on roof which was really our floor made a complaint to management to be told they don’t play music till 9am we left early because of the noise and no sleep and told them to check cctv but got no reply I never complain about anything but had to with this As was really disappointed with the service and the response from management I would avoid this place at all costs
Everything, staff were brilliant, beds were super comfy, food was great.
Staff where very nice and polite
Got room 09Lumpy bedTV not workingRoom very small bed filled room Bathroom small sat on wc had to lean on whb.Bed very lumpy and hard Party going on below and load music until after 1am had to be up at 6am but room clean
The hotel has a lovely welcoming feel at reception
The rooms are dated and in need of decoration, very poor lighting, beds extremely uncomfortable Chef went home sick so I was served a piece of bread with chopped veg on top as bruschetta ? Not great
Was a cozy clean quiet room and staff were so helpful will be back definitely.
Staff very friendly and helpful
Menu choices not great too much IndianThe room was cold and damp
Lovely building Great staffLovely food
Needs a refresh tiles broke in bathroom Lights don’t work properly near bed (turn one off and another turns on
The staff were excellent, very attentive and helpful. The room was comfortable and cosy. Breakfast was good, very nice full Scottish breakfast.Would definitely stay again and recommend.
The room was quite a walk from reception which didn't bother us but might an older couple.Although I enjoyed the breakfast the scrambled eggs need work.
Location in the clyde Valley was lovely.Replaced pillow when I finally found a team member.
Mouldy Damp smell throughout, particularly in the room. Room not cleaned thoroughly (old sock on the floor at the curtain). Pillows too firm. Mattress protector had brown spotted stains and was so thick could have been used as a winter duvet.Generator noise continuous outside the room all night heard through the closed window. Unable to open the window because of this and condensation was awful, window ledge was a pool in the morning. Poor ventilation. Shower took a solid 5 minutes to get even just warm water. Paint in the room done to a poor standard. Wall near the tv not cleaned after something had clearly been moved.Dinner in the resteraunt was poor. Stale bread with the spicy prawn starter and not as described on the menu. Missing iceberg lettuce and the sauce. Stale bread really doesnt count as toast The highland burger was so rubbery it looked and had the texture of a bouncing ball if it was burger shaped. The latte was mostly foam.To top it off there was no sticky toffee dessert and no mention of this before ordering. We booked here to spend our 10 year anniversary having had our reception here and such a wonderful time. Had phoned them up to mention this and ask about what facilities were still open as I was aware of floodings and a fire.Dissapointed that it hadnt been noted that we were here celebrating. A little note in the room or a congratulations on check in would have been a lovely touch. Sadly no personal touches. Not even a "have you any plans for your visit?". Very robotic check in and on check out didnt even ask how the stay was which I feel is telling.Spent 2 nights here and would not go back highly dissapointed.Had an awful sleep both nights due to a mix of the noise and comfort of the bed.Investement into the room conditions and really sorting out their menu is desperately needed. I would not be surprised if it wasnt there in the next 10 years. Not that we will be returning.
It was in a quite location
The room was a bit tired and could do with being updated but it was clean. The showers and taps need a lot more pressure behind them as it was very slow. The room was very basic and it could do with a new carpet and head board in bed
Location
Lugging my bags up stairs , navigating doors and long corridors to find my room with no assistance
It was quiet friendly and clean
Every staff member I interacted with was lovely, very friendly and welcoming! They are the only reason I rate a 2.
The hotel overall is in massive need of an update, once you check in, the walk to the rooms is littered with hallways with wallpaper missing. The room itself, the curtains were hanging off on the corners, meaning they never shut properly, the room was freezing with just a portable plug in heater in the room. The doorknob for the bathroom door was half hanging off, the bed itself had stained sheets, the headboard was pealing and seemed almost mouldy?! By far the worst part was the carpet, which was rock hard and felt almost damp.
