- Cheap and cheerful, great having food available, we needed sleep and thats what we got
Cons -
- I would avoid the restaurant. The food was close to not edible. However, I booked for the room and that was fine.
- Everything was good about the hotel
- The location was awful, the price was too high for the quality being very poor . The food options below standard and there was hair in the bath

Great location for where we wanted to be, excellent facilities, helpful staff, well maintained rooms, would definitely use this hotel again.
Everything was good about the hotel
If I had to say something then it would be the size of the family room
The location was awful, the price was too high for the quality being very poor . The food options below standard and there was hair in the bath
The room was clean, there were fresh towels on the bed, the shower was hot and there were shampoo and soaps which I don't expect from previous reviews.
Great location for a quiet retreat, but still close enough to towns. Beautiful grounds and main building. My room has quality carpet, high quality woven tartan curtains which were blackout. Really good sized TV. Coffee making facilities
Cleanliness in main areas is below standard. The elevator was shockingly filthy, not been cleaned in months at least, which is a shame as I saw staff coming in and out of it daily. They undoubtedly must see it's totally unacceptable ( unless they are not motivated which I think is probable)Cigarettes butts in beer garden and outdoor areas not been swepped in weeks. Rooms are definitely value for money, but for a bit more care and attention, I would gladly pay more. Would I stay here again, for the cost, definitely YES. Lots of good points in this hotel, and I would 100% book again. But I'm also frustrated as this beautiful building, grounds etc could be so much more with better standards being implemented and I dare say, better staff training. The staff were all great I have to say, but in my opinion, and overwhelming sense of not fully enjoying working there.
Location is good to access Ayr and local area
Twin room was fineBut the family room felt strange - no tea or coffee facility in either, family room bathroom was tired and dated and not what would expect. Perhaps this area of the hotel hadn’t had a refirb yet ? Also we had two rooms booked which were literally opposite end to each other and different floors. WiFi was terrible
It was what you'd expect for the money
Burn marks from previous stays on the floor. Someone who has seen the picture said it could be from drug use. Added that photo. Beds were uncomfortable, patches of paint not finished and small rooms. But as stated it was three times.cheaper in the summer hols. You get what you pay for. It is a shame, beautiful building and grounds. Could be a luxury hotel if money was spent.
Inexpensive. Room was clean. Staff polite and helpful.
Bar and restaurant closed very early. It feels like a residential training centre or a hostel. Nothing else nearby - it's a drive to get anywhere.
Value for money. Very basic but this was reflected mostly in the price
Rooms were small and outdated, corridors were noisy after 11pm with children. Beds were uncomfortable
The hotel was beautiful, with panelled walls. There was a lovely garden area to walk around. It was a short drive to Prestwick town, the beach, golf courses and the airport. There were singers on some evenings.
The only thing I would have to complain about was the very large radiator at the site of the bed glad it was not on should be under the window not next to the bed
The location
room was small peeling paint in Bathroom hair found in the bed room not cleaned very good room was too warm and couldn't cool it down
Friendly receptionist
Dated rooms but cheap. So I was expecting it.
I had a number of panniers on my bike, it took 3 troops to get them to my room. Some help would have been appreciated.
No empathy with the way I was traveling.
The photograph of the grand building does not resemble the actual hotel. Rooms are very basic and needs updating.
Position and helpful staff
The receptionist 'Robert' was really friendly and helpful. The hotel was really clean a beautiful building set in bequtiful peaceful surroundings.
I was informed the night before my trip that the hotel where unable to serve breakfast and evening meals and there was no bar service. So I was unable to cancel and rearrange another hotel. Addituonally they were workmen still working at 20:10 at the rear of the building outside my room.
Never again
Rooms were small, dirty. Radiators would not turn off
Handy for airport
Very dated, room wasn't clean and tops didnt work in bathroom on the sink and bath.
